Bianca Umali bloomed right in front of our eyes.
Last night, March 17, 2018, the young star celebrated her 18th birthday with a dreamy party fit for a princess at the EDSA Shangri-La in Mandaluyong City.
The Kapuso actress admittedly wasn’t “someone who’s really excited to be 18.”
In fact, she stopped celebrating her birthdays when she became an orphan.
Her mom died of breast cancer when she was five, while her dad succumbed to heart attack when she was ten years old.
Asked what turning eighteen means to her, she told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and YES! Magazine, “Actually, lahat ng 'to surreal pa sa 'kin, hindi pa nagsi-sink in sa 'kin.”
HIGHLIGHTS. Donning a light sky blue Liza Padilla light-up ball gown, the debutante literally illuminated the room as she entered the event venue.
She later wore her main gown, a “Pantone blue Gazar embellished with Swarovski crystals, zircon and beadworks” Fay Reyes gown.
Wasn’t she the loveliest?
Her perennial and onscreen partner Miguel Tanfelix even made the night more special with his special gifts.
In a video clip, he unveiled the six gifts he gave Bianca as a countdown.
The gifts include: a bouquet of white roses, a blank canvas for Bianca to paint on, an energy box filled with her favorite snacks, her all-time favorite food sinigang, a portrait of their favorite photo, and a floral dress.
Miguel also surprised Bianca with her seventh and last gift: an all-expense-paid trip to Japan, her dream destination.
Remembering her late parents, Bianca dedicated her 18th candle to her mom and her 18th rose to her dad.
Bianca thanked her guests through her very touching message.
“People ask me kung ano po yung wish ko for my 18th birthday.
"Wala po akong wishes at all because I’m actually contented with what I have already.
“And instead of wishing more for more or wishing for anything, I would like to say thank you, more of thank yous po yung gusto kong sabihin at i-express sa inyo.
“And of course, thank you kay God, kuntento na po ako sa kung anong meron ako.
“Maraming maraming salamat, mahal na mahal ko po kayo.
“To my mom and my dad, I know that both of you are here.
“I’m celebrating tonight because of the both of you, para sa inyo lahat ng ginagawa ko.
Addressing her Lola Victorina and Lola Bebiana Solier, she continued, “To both of my lolas, I love you po so much.
“And tama rin yung sinabi nila kanina na kung hindi dahil sa inyong dalawa, hindi ako ganito kung sino ako ngayon, hindi ako yung Bianca na nakikita niyo.
“Na-appreciate ko po kayong lahat, sa lahat po ng bumubuo ng buhay ko at lahat po ng taong nandito may parte sa puso ko.
“Maraming maraming salamat po.
“And I also apologize for crying so much, I know it’s kinda annoying but sorry, emotional lang po talaga ako. Thank you. “
As her way of giving back to her guests, the lovely debutante pulled off a dance number to the tune of Camila Cabello’s “Havana.”
With the expertise of Gideon Hermosa, the event place transformed into a majestic manor gleaming with regal elegance.
GUESTS. Bianca’s family and friends were asked to wear all-white formal outfits for the party.
Even her showbiz friends flocked EDSA Shangri-La to celebrate this special night with her.
