It goes without saying that royal weddings, because of their pomp and grandeur, are also usually one of the most expensive, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's recently-concluded ceremony clearly attests to this.
According to a report by Business Insider, the royal wedding is said to cost $45.8 million, or PHP2.4 billion in total.
This is based on the estimate made by U.K.-based wedding app, Bridebook.
In comparison, the 2011 royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton only amounted to $34 million or PHP1.8 billion.
So, where did most of the money go?
As stated in the report, a huge chunk of the wedding bill went to security.
The royal family paid $43 million or PHP2.2 billion to protect everyone present at the wedding, including the public.
Second on the wedding bill would be the food and drinks.
Food and drink for the two wedding receptions cost up to $686,000 or PHP35.8 million.
