Onyok Pineda has been enjoying the best of both worlds.
After leaving FPJ's Ang Probinsyano in May 2017, some deemed his sudden departure a wasted opportunity.
But a year later, he's back on television through the second season of Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids.
Last weekend, he impersonated folk rock icon Lolita Carbon, and gave an impressive and 'walang kaarte-arte' performance of "Masdan Mo ang Kapaligiran."
Onyok's dedication is manifested not just on his craft, but also on his studies.
The seven-year-old star's recent Instagram post showed the result of his Mathematics First Unit Test.
He captioned: "Thank you Lord! Kahit medyo busy sa @yourfaceph, mataas pa rin ang result ng exam ko! 78/80 [smiling emoji] Mathematics 2. (First Unit Test) #myfavesubjectisMath"
In a previous interview, Awra Briguela, Onyok's former co-star in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano, affirmed, "Sa tent namin, sa dressing room, may mga dala siyang libro.
"Gusto talaga niyang mag-aral at napakatalinong bata niya."
In fact, the Star Magic talent was on the list of pupils with high honors last March.
He also received four certificates.
Part of the caption read: "The only one who got 'SCHOLASTIC AWARD' in the class, Academic Excellency Award, Eager Beaver Award, and Perfect Attendance."
Onyok may have lost extra income, but the bright side of not having a regular taping day is he gets to enjoy his childhood...
...and spend more time with his family, particularly his mom Mary Ann Nulo, who had Onyok's back when he left the top-rating Kapamilya series.
Keep up the good work!
