Aljur Abrenica had his first black-tie event at his new home network after his transfer from GMA-7 in July 2017.
He and his long-time partner, Kapuso actress Kylie Padilla, were among the new faces at the ABS-CBN Ball last Saturday, September 29, at the Makati Shangri-la Hotel.
"I'm just very grateful and excited sa mangyayari tonight and [to] support Bantay Bata.
"And I'm privileged enough to be invited sa ABS-CBN ball.
"Wala na akong ipagpapasalamat pa... wala na akong naipi-picture na iba na mas gaganda pa sa gabing ito kasi kasama ko yung fiancée ko.
"And, nagpapasalamat din ako sa network niya na pinayagan siya to be here," Aljur said in an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the press on the night of the ball.
The word "fiancée" prompted PEP.ph to ask about the report on their plan to get married in November.
The question caught both Aljur and Kylie off-guard.
Aljur spoke for both of them, "Nagpapasalamat kami sa mga tao na nagtatanong, di ba, na interesado.
"Ibig sabihin, talagang sinusundan nila yung love story namin ni Kylie so sobrang grateful lang kami."
And then he said, "'Wag kayong mag-alala, malapit na, malapit na."
The couple got engaged in January 2017. They have a one-year-old son, Alas.
