Miss Chinatown 2016 and recording artist Shirley Vy just had her dream wedding come true.
On Sunday, October 14, the 26-year-old singer from Tacloban City married her long-time partner, businessman Kevin Wong.
Shirley is known for her bossa nova songs "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life" and "Sabihin Mo."
On her wedding day, she wore a custom-made Elie Saab wedding gown.
According to bridalmusings.com, bridal gowns from Elie Saab cost around $7,500 to $27,000, depending on the design.
Her groom, on the other hand, wore a black and white suit from Dior.
Shirley looked effortlessly gorgeous in her bridal look, opting for minute hues of blush for her makeup and soft curls for her hair.
She sought the help of celebrity makeup artist Albert Kurniawan and hairstylist Jerry Javier.
THE WEDDING
The couple exchanged vows around 3 p.m. at the National Shrine of Saint Jude Thaddeus in San Miguel, Manila.
Event stylist Gideon Hermosa did his magic and turned the interiors of the church into a colorful, whimsical garden filled with orchids and stock flowers, among many others.
The bridal march was reminiscent of Araminta Lee's wedding scene in Crazy Rich Asians, where Araminta tied the knot with Colin Khoo.
Shirley walked down the aisle to the tune of Side A's "Forevermore."
The couple's entourage came in matching suits and gowns.
The bridesmaids wore creations by Elizabeth Hallie Design.
THE GUESTS
Among the couple's guests were Victor Basa and his girlfriend Stephanie Dan.
CNN Philippines' James Deakin served as the wedding-reception host with the help of Richard Poon's sister Eva Marie Poon.
Eat Bulaga's You're My Foreignay runner-up Dasuri Choi also graced the event.
Other Mister and Miss Chinatown finalists were also spotted at the wedding, including Viva Artist Wryan Chua and Miss Chinatown Philippines 2018 1st Runner-up Sabrina Ng.
THE RECEPTION
Events planner Christine Ong Te took charge of coordinating the wedding.
The wedding reception was held at the Grand Ballroom of Solaire Resort and Casino in Pasay City.
Gideon turned the reception hall into a Greek garden-inspired venue adorning it with hundreds of pastel-colored flowers inside the ballroom as he did for the church wedding.
The LED wall inside the reception hall was massive.
According to AMdesign FX Studios, 580 panels were used to mount the 5-meter by 29-meter giant screen.
One stand-out feature at the reception was the tall wedding cake by Mannix Peña of Cakes by Mannix.
Peña described the cake as the tallest he has made to date at approximately 11 feet.
"So happy to have had the opportunity to make a Cake like this for non other than @iamshirleyvy and Kevin’s wedding.
"Congratulations Mr. And Mrs. Wong," he said.
Shirley also dedicated her performance of "Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko" to her husband.
Guests enjoyed performances of the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra.
The American acoustic band Boyce Avenue flew in to Manila just for the wedding of Kevin and Shirley.
They performed "Unchained Melody" and "Say You Won't Let Go," among many others.
In an Instagram post, Eva Poon said the band had to take a short break from its U.S. tour just to fly to Manila and perform for the couple.
She wrote on Instagram, "When you have one of the most popular bands in the world, with 10 million subscribers and 3.4 billion views on YouTube, take a break from their current U. S. tour and fly in just to sing at your wedding reception. It was an honor to introduce and listen to you, the Manzano brothers, more popularly known as Boyce Avenue."
Shirley and Kevin hired Metrophoto to take their official wedding photos and wedding videographer Jason Magbanua for their same-day edit video.
The newlyweds both run successful businesses.
Shirley is the president and CEO of Foodeology Inc., the local franchise holder of the popular South Korean dessert cafe called Kiss The Tiramisu.
Kevin is the general manager of Oriental Group which, according to its official website, is the "leading gaming operator in the online and land-based gaming industry" licensed by PAGCOR (Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation).
