But it didn't require much for Angkas Chief Executive Officer George Royeca to express his unwavering love for his wife Angeline Tham.

In fact, he did it with a simple harana, the old Filipino tradition of serenading a loved one.
On Tuesday night, February 14, 2023, George uploaded on Instagram the video of his experience serenading his wife in public.
In the video, George could be seen with a group of Angkas riders performing an acoustic version of John Legend’s "All of Me." This was followed by his rendition of "Mabagal," popularized by Daniel Padilla and Moira dela Torre.
George wrote in the caption, "Uso pa naman ang harana diba? This is my first time to serenade my wife, Angie.
"I was so nervous but I’m glad she liked it. Happy birthday and Happy Valentine’s to the Founder of Angkas and the Founder of my heart! #Angkas #MisterandMisisAngkas #ValentinesDay"

In a separate post, he told his wife, "I hope you liked my little surprise! Happy Valentine's Day and Happy Birthday to my wife, my partner, and my inspiration. [blue heart emoji]"
George revealed in an interview that this was actually his first time to serenade a loved one.
He said, "I have never done this before. I was so nervous.
"This is the first time hinarana ko si Angie. I want to show her how we Filipino men really go the extra mile to express our love and gratitude for our special someone.
"Sabi nga nila basta daw rider, sweet lover. Actually, basta Pinoy, sweet lover,”
Angeline, a Singaporean, was ecstatic to experience the Filipino tradition first hand. And it was more special since Valentine's Day also happened to be her birthday.
She said in an interview, "It’s a delight to learn about Filipino culture on Valentine’s Day. Really grateful for my husband’s surprise.
"Now, I’ve proven that Filipinos are really good singers. I didn’t know our Angkas riders could sing! I truly enjoyed it."
George has been known to highlight Filipino traditions, customs, and talents through his company's marketing strategies.
This Valentine’s day, the Angkas team is giving away free padala deliveries. Their app's Angkas Padala users who are lucky enough to book an Angkas Biker wearing a pair of cupid wings need not pay for their bookings.
