Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa is looking for a "life partner."

But this guy will not promise you the moon, he will take you there for real.

On January 12, 2020, the 44-year-old businessman announced on his website that he is looking for a lady who will accompany him on his trip to the moon slated for the year 2023.

Maezawa and his chosen partner are set to be among the first commercial passengers of Starship, a spacecraft owned by acclaimed engineer and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.

Their voyage is going to be chronicled as a matchmaking documentary entitled Full Moon Lovers, which will be launched on the Japanese video streaming website AbemaTV.

Maezawa admitted that he was initially hesitant to join the program until he realized this might be his only chance to find his one great love.

"I'm 44 now. As feelings of loneliness and emptiness slowly begin to surge upon me, there's one thing that I think about: continuing to love one woman," he said.

"When I got the offer to go on this program, I was first taken over by emotions of embarrassment and pride, and I thought about refusing the offer.

"The more I thought about it, however, I started to think a chance like this might not come around again... I want to find a 'life partner.' With that future partner of mine, I want to shout our love and world peace from outer space."

Entries can be submitted on his website until 10 a.m. on January 17, 2020.

YUSAKU MAEZAWA'S "PERFECT ONE"

Maezawa has a few qualifications for his ideal girl.

She must be single, at least 20 years old, and with a "bright personality."

She should know how to "enjoy life to the fullest" and, at the same time, "wishes world peace."

Lastly, the applicant must be an avid fan of the galaxy.

He says she must be "interested in going into space and able to participate in the preparation for it."

This proves to be a non-negotiable for Maezawa because according to the New York Times, he and his ex-girlfriend actress Ayame Goriki parted ways "because he wanted her to go to space with him, but they had different aspirations."

Before dating Ayame, Maezawa had "a string of celebrity girlfriends" and a divorce from his ex-wife with whom he had one child.

Forbes lists Maezawa as the 22nd richest Japanese in the world with the net worth of two billion US Dollars at press time.

Maezawa also loves collecting art as a hobby.

Forbes states that in 2017, the billionaire purchased Jean-Michel Basquiat's 1982 painting Untitled for 110.5 million USD.

Maezawa is also known for giving away his fortune online.

In January 2019, he gave away 100 million yen to 100 Twitter followers who would retweet his post.

He upped the ante on December 31, 2019 by launching a similar contest where he gave away 1 billion yen (equivalent to 9 million USD) to 1,000 of his Twitter followers.
