Isang Pilipinang certified public accountant (CPA) ang nakakuha ng highest score sa May-June 2023 exam on Certified Management Accountant (CMA) mula sa ibat-ibang bansa.
Ito ay si Shannen C. Jagwani, graduate ng Accountancy sa University of Sto. Tomas (UST) noong 2022.
Nagtapos siya bilang cum laude sa UST-Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy.
Una nang nakapasa sa Certified Public Accountancy licensure exam si Shannen noong October 2022.
Sa mga nagtatanong kung ano ang pakinabang ng pagiging CMA, ito ay “globally recognized financial accounting experts who are certified to use their analytics skills to help businesses make strategic decisions,” ayon ito sa isang website.
In short, ang pagiging CMA ay magbubukas ng oportunidad sa isang CPA na i-practice ang kanyang natutunan internationally at makapag-work abroad.

Kaya naman isang karangalan para kay Shannen ang makakuha ng “highest score worldwide” among CMA examines for May-June 2023, ulat ni Hannah Joyce Andaya ng The Varsitarian, ang official publication ng UST.
Dahil sa kanyang achievement, ginawaran si Shannen ng Jagwani Priscilla S. Payne Outstanding Student Performance award.
Ang naturang award ay ibinibigay “to the individual(s) who took both parts of the CMA exam during any given testing window and achieved the highest score as a college student.”
Sabi ni Shannen, “I believe that merely passing the CMA would open a lot of opportunities for me as well as [for] my co-passers.
“Opportunities that would allow us to broaden our knowledge and capabilities and to practice our learnings and skills not only in our country but also [globally].”

Bukod kay Shannen, pumasa rin sa May-June 2023 CMA exam sina Grace Lui ng De La Salle University na pumangalawa, at si Shania Lozano ng Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology na pumang-apat.
Sa CMA, sinusukat ang 12 competencies: External financial reporting decisions; Planning, budgeting, and forecasting; Performance management; Cost management; Internal controls; Technology and analytics; Financial statement analysis; Corporate finance; Decision analysis; Risk management; Investment decisions; Professional ethics.
Binanggit din sa The Varsitarian na hindi isinasapubliko ang resulta ng CMA exams.
Sabi pa nito, “It is administered by the Institute of Management Accountants, a worldwide association of over 140,000 accountants.”
Ginanap naman ang May-June 2023 CMA exams ng mga examinees sa Pilipinas sa Ateneo de Manila University noong May 22 at June 20, 2023.
