WHY PSYCHOLOGY

Nakakuwentuhan si Jairus ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) nitong October 14, 2026, via Facebook Messenger.

Pagbabahagi niya: “I grew up from a poor family po.

I also wanted to understand myself.

“Most importantly, there are people close to me na may mental health conditions.

“By taking psychology, I wanted to be able to understand them better.”

JAIRUS LOZANO’S FINANCIAL WOES DURING COLLEGE

JAIRUS LOZANO STOPS WORKING TO FOCUS ON HIS REVIEW

“At the start of my review season, I was busy with my work during weekdays and church duties during weekends.

“As a result, yung pagre-review ko ay isinisingit ko na lang kapag may free time kaya kinulang rin po talaga sa oras.”

Mahirap man, isang desisyon ang kanyang ginawa. “That is why I had to choose po and set my priorities. Hence, I left my job.”

I had to come up with my best guess while analyzing carefully the question and choices.

BEING A TOPNOTCHER

“Yun po talaga ang goal ko kaya I chose to resign from my job in order to give my all sa review.

“Pinangarap ko pong maging topnotcher—not for myself—but for my parents and to glorify God.”

“When the news came out na Top 7 ako, I cried—not out of sadness—but out of joy and gratefulness to God for answering my prayer.

“And because all my effort and sacrifices finally paid off.”

“During my review season, there were times na gusto ko nang huminto, sumuko, and worst, I doubted myself kung kaya ko ba.

“I even came to a point where I questioned myself kung yung ginagawa ko bang pagre-review ay magbubunga, kung tama ba ginagawa ko, if I am on the right track at kung anu-ano pang pag-o-overthink.

“But even during those times, I felt God’s presence and peace giving me a sense of assurance that God is by my side.”

“At the start of the year, I was still having second thoughts whether to take the board exam or not.

“I did not have enough motivation back then. Not until last May when I went to Prayer Mountain with my fellow Sunday school teachers.

“It was then when God started changing my perspective.

“Passing the boards became something I want to do, not solely for myself, but most importantly for my parents.”

JAIRUS LOZANO DEDICATES ACHIEVEMENT TO HIS PARENTS

“With that, hopefully I was able to bring them joy.”

JAIRUS LOZANO’S FUTURE CAREER PLAN

“My future career plan is, I want to become an educator, someone who will educate and inspire students in the field of psychology.”

“The journey ahead will not be easy but it will be fun and fulfilling.

“Always keep with you a heart for serving people, ready to listen, and extend compassion.”
