Gauthier Destenay, the openly gay husband of Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, is making headlines after joining the First Wives and girlfriends of world leaders in a photo-op at the North-Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) conference.
The said photo-op took place at the Royal Castle of Laeken in Belgium, Thursday, May 25.
Destenay, a Belgian architect, married Bettel, the first openly gay prime minister, in 2015.
A photo of the said event could be seen on the Facebook account of The White House.
The leaders of NATO gathered to discuss world matters.
Prime Minister Bettel and Destenay tied the knot in a low-key wedding two years ago in Luxembourg, which legalized same-sex marriage on January 1, 2015.
