A young CEO just set the bar high on how to ask a lady for a coffee date.
Christian "Xian" Gaza of Guanxiqian Group, a Hong-Kong based company, recently went viral for his mega effort in asking Erich Gonzales to have a coffee with him.
In his July 1 Facebook post, Xian snapped a picture of a billboard on Morayta Avenue that read, "I can't even espresso how much I like you a latte. Will you... drink coffee with me?"
He captioned the post with: "They say it's first time in Philippine history.
"I say: That's how special you are to me."
Through a text message sent to Darla Sauler, Erich, who is presently out of the country, said, "Ang cute ng effort ni Kuya.
"It's fine. Let's see when I get back. There's nothing wrong naman if we talk over coffee, pero dapat kasama ka. Hahaha!!! See you soon, Darls!"
According to Xian, he first met the Kapamilya actress last January 5, 2017, at the Uptown Mall Cinema in Taguig City.
At that time, he was "nursing a broken heart" and decided to watch the last full show of fantasy film Assassin's Creed, "and much to my surprise, you [Erich] were seated right there in front of me along with some other four."
He recounted, "After the movie, I mustered all courage I had up my sleeve in order to approach you and took this very selfie so that I may remember that magical moment.
"You, being kind, happily obliged."
Xian added, "At that moment, you had left a massive imprint on my heart.
"You left me mesmerized."
The young CEO continued, "I don't wanna portray sainthood nor pretend to be one in your eyes.
"Yes, I'm a typical bachelor who tries to meet and mingle with some girls, but there are two factors why nothing shall really work out that time.
"First, I'm on my 'moving on' stage and second is without your knowledge, you really touched a portion of my heart that even myself can't describe nor put it into words.
"Half of 2017 had passed now and I made 29 flights to numerous locations taking that 'Uptown Mall Cinema Moment' with me, and so with you who never left my mind.
"Now that I'm in the full version of myself, finally healed and moved on.
"At the same time really doing great in all aspects of my life, and now I can definitely say that I am now ready to take on new chances and risks even with a very small percentage of success.
"I would rather fail than not trying at all because I can't move forward with life without following what my heart truly desires.
"I know people shall laugh at me now.
"Maybe some are even questioning who this crazy ugly piece of shit is, but I won't give a F so long as I believe that happiness is the greatest form of success, and right now, thinking of you really gives me genuine happiness, I mean it."
He ended his letter with, "I really hope to meet you soon, Ms. Gancayco [real surname of Erich].
"And above all else, thank you very much for unknowingly making me smile and inspiring me in each passing day for the last half year."
Prior to this, he first caught the attention of netizens when he bought an enormous Bobbi Brown makeup set for the Kapamilya actress.
To prove that the items were not sponsored or from any raffle, the young man posted the receipt.
Last June 15, he put this out on his Facebook account: "They say this is 'Every Woman's Dream Gift,' and I wanna give it to you because you're a heaven-sent gift—an every man's dream, Ms. Gancayco."
