Students and alumni tweeted out their wittiest and most hilarious reactions as their respective cheering squads competed for the 2017 UAAP Cheerdance Competition this Saturday, December 2, at the MOA Arena.

The UAAP Cheerdance Competition is one of the most anticipated events every UAAP season.

Students, alumni, and cheerdance fanatics gather together for one of the biggest and liveliest Twitter parties of the year as netizens tweet out their winning reactions to all the performances.

For this year's cheerdance competition, fans were all eager to see the return of the UP Pep Squad after they skipped the previous season.

UP had always been one of the top contenders for the sport, and they had always been one of the competition's highlights.

People were happy to see their return.

The stunts, the tosses, and the pyramids were also one of the anticipated highlights of the competition.

Although everyone collectively agreed that there was only one memorable stunt that deserved to be the most "winning" of them all.

Netizens had a field day rationalizing the themes that each university squad chose for this year, just like NU's supposed "Under the Sea" theme.

Netizens particularly loved how the NU Pep Squad paid homage to a memorable and now-viral 2003 performance of their squad.

Meanwhile, Twitter liked FEU Cheering Squad's idea of uniting earth, water, air, and fire.

Over at the Taft-based squad, people pondered over La Salle's attempt to put a Japanese twist on their so-called #JapANIMO choreography.

However, many couldn't tell whether the Ateneo Blue Babble Battalion was really committed to its #JuanBigFight with its all-Pinoy theme.

But among the themes, Twitter had the hardest time figuring out UE Pep Squad's theme for this competition.

The only clue they got: their fiery, fringe ensemble.

But everyone appreciated the team's message for the year:

Especially this one:

Towards the climax of the competition, netizens started tweeting out their own bets for a podium finish.

And this season proved to be different as the UE Pep Squad and Adamson Pep Squad joined University of Santo Tomas' Salinggawi Dance Troupe on the podium with Adamson taking some gold!

People set aside their school differences to celebrate the refreshing win of Adamson, a first-time victor in the competition.

Meanwhile, the triumphant bronze finish of the UE Pep Squad gave birth to a new meme for social media to feast upon.

Also, an eagle-eyed netizen spotted a Hollywood star among the members of the UE Pep Squad.

And speaking of spotting winners, keen watchers had a field day stumbling upon new "eye candy."

At the end, many agreed that the underlying theme of this season was "humility."

The UAAP Cheerdance Competition has held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena this Saturday, December 2.
