The UAAP Cheerdance Competition is one of the most anticipated events every UAAP season.
Students, alumni, and cheerdance fanatics gather together for one of the biggest and liveliest Twitter parties of the year as netizens tweet out their winning reactions to all the performances.

For this year's cheerdance competition, fans were all eager to see the return of the UP Pep Squad after they skipped the previous season.
UP had always been one of the top contenders for the sport, and they had always been one of the competition's highlights.

The performance of UP Pep Squad was never only about choreography & stunts. It's a social commentary of overwhelming significance, nationalism and battle for the rights of the underserved. #MaroonAkoIsko #UPFight #KwentongIsko #UAAPCDC2017
— Dalvie Casilang (@docdalvz) December 2, 2017
for the 1st time in a while the UP Pep Squad focused on a personal goal (i.e. to simply perform for the sake of performing) instead of a huge advocacy, and for me it's ok!!! as artists n athletes, personal goals are just as important!!!! #UPFight #TaasKamao
— Paloma One (@PatriciaLucido) December 2, 2017
The stunts, the tosses, and the pyramids were also one of the anticipated highlights of the competition.
Although everyone collectively agreed that there was only one memorable stunt that deserved to be the most "winning" of them all.

Netizens had a field day rationalizing the themes that each university squad chose for this year, just like NU's supposed "Under the Sea" theme.
Ang theme ng NU ngayon ay gobyerno natin. Hindi nagkakasundo. Charot! #UAAPCDC2017

The only clue they got: their fiery, fringe ensemble.
