"These days, maraming judgmental, especially because there's social media," says celebrity stylist Donna Cuna-Pita.
So, the most important fashion advice she could give: "Mind what you're wearing, not what the people are saying."
She added, "You have to be honest with yourself. Honest in terms of your body type, assets, and your problem areas. Kasi, when you know these, you feel good about your choice, and no one can put you down."
The chat with Donna took place at the SM Woman event held on March 20, at the SM Mega Fashion Hall.
The fashion show, which launched the summer 2019 collection, gathered not only beauty queens, celebrities, TV personalities, and models...
..but also dedicated a segment for curvy ladies.
When asked what it was like styling them, Donna told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "It's easy to work with people who appreciate themselves.
"Any trend or whatever, any body type that interprets it, what will make it stand out is the one who's wearing it. If they feel confident, it translates."
True enough, the crowd cheered when Bituin Escalante, Kat Gumabao, Frenchie Dy, and Radha emerged on stage.
Power couple Joey Mead and Angelina King also joined show, which clearly conveyed the message: "No discrimination in fashion."
Donna remarked, "No matter what age you're in, what body type you have, even gender, you can wear what you want, and you should have fun."
