Fashion stylists are esteemed highly as the fairy godmothers of celebrities, and deserving of applause in equal measure.
Why? Because their magic wands produce the most glamorous OOTDs, head-turning looks, and unforgettable style moments of ceiebrities.
Pam Quiñones is one of the country's most sought-after fashion stylists.
She is the brains and brawn behind Qurator Studio that has been dressing up the A-list celebrities in the country for over a decade.
Pam and her team of stylists are so up and up they can forecast upcoming fashion trends.
Her team includes Maita Baello, Melville Sy, Shark Tanael, Leanne Ledesma, Alexine Castillo, Mac Intia, and Carl Pabilona.
On July 4, Thursday, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) talked to Pam Q about fashion and celebrities at the launch of Ayala Malls' pop-up store called Stylist Closet in Glorietta 2, Makati City.
PEP.ph asked the celebrity stylist to name her favorite muses. And with their long list of celebrity clientele, Pam Q was hard-pressed to name just a few, but here are some of her favorite celebrity muses:
JUDY ANN SANTOS
Judy Ann Santos was the first name that came to Pam Q's mind when asked about her favorite celebrity muse.
According to her, Judy Ann is the type that puts comfort first than anything else.
She explained, "I love that woman because she knows what she is. Beyond fashion, her style is really comfort. We know that as stylists. As stylists, we know that for her, comfort comes first and then we add the fashion to it.
"So fashion is secondary function, primarily."
Probably one of Judy Ann's most iconic looks was her emerald green Oscar dela Renta gown that she paired with Valentino heels and PHP94-million worth of jewelry at the ABS-CBN Ball 2018 in Makati City.
ANNE CURTIS
It's Showtime host Anne Curtis is also one of her favorite clients, but Pam Q said the actress-host has the least need for a stylist.
She explained, "She knows her personal style. We're just there to inform her once in a while. We just help her, but she knows what she wants."
Pam Q and her team was in charge of the styling at Anne's outfits at her Anne-Kulit: Last Ko Na 'To concert at the Araneta Coliseum in August 2018.
CHARLENE GONZALEZ
Pam Q said she aspires to be like Charlene.
She told PEP.ph, "One of my favorite muses. I love her because you wanna to become like her, her outlook in life, how she is with people, how she treats people. She's just a woman of elegance."
A trick of Pam Q is to hew her styling according to a client's attitude and personality.
This is also why she suggests elegant pieces to Charlene when her team dresses her up for events.
Pam Q said, "I think, whatever you wear, if you have that attitude, for me, you'll look good.
"Because, really, clothes are secondary.
"I think a woman should wear the clothes and not the other way around.
"That's why I've never really been heavy on too crazy pieces because if you're the personality who can pull off the crazy pieces like Tim Yap for example, then it fits you.
"But if not, then it wears you."
MARIAN RIVERA
Marian Rivera, a long-time client, holds a special place in Pam Q's heart.
She said, "Marian Rivera is one of my oldest clients and one of my favorite muse and she's great.
"She's very feminine, and she's also very beautiful."
Like Charlene, Pam Q also avoids crazy pieces when dressing up Marian.
Instead, she opts for classy and sophisticated looks for Marian to highlight her beautiful face.
"When you dress her up, you kinda want to put spotlight on her face.
"So you don't want to put too many elements or details on her because she's a beautiful woman.
"When you dress her up, dress her up in a certain way that flatters her body type and that brings the focus on her face."
Marian has never really considered herself a fashionista, but for Pam Q, she has earned her right be called one.
She said, "It’s so funny because, I guess with Marian, when she says she's not a fashionista, it's because she has an idea or a perception of what fashionista means.
"It doesn't mean you need to be an editor. It doesn't mean you need to know all the trends.
"She is, for me, someone who knows her fashion. She's just, I guess, modest not really say it.
"Maybe she's shy about it."
Pam Q added, "We help her when she asks for advice.
"It’s usually like, 'Ano mas maganda? Ito or ito?'
"She texts us and asks, 'Mas maganda ba ito bilhin or itong isang pair of shoes?'
"She's more like that, but she already knows what she wants.
"I think that’s a key ingredient when you style someone because it's a very different approach if the person does not know her personal style than someone who really knows."
PIA WURTZBACH
Pam Q also loves dressing up Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.
She told PEP.ph, "She's international, she's Miss Universe. Everyone loves her.
"We love working with her, she's amazing."
One thing Pam Q loves about Pia is that she's game for anything.
She said, "Pia always wants to experiment. She's the type na, 'Oy, mag-shoot tayo bukas!'
"And it's a completely different Pia, but she loves it.
"Maybe she wants to challenge herself also and see herself doing different things."
BEA ALONZO
Pam Q added Bea Alonzo to her list of favorite celebrity muses.
Last July, Bea started working with Qurator Studio to dress her up for her events.
She explained, "I think she will be a new muse because she started working with Qurator and she's really a superstar. She’s a great actress."
Maita and Shark of Qurator were in-charge of Bea's all-white ensemble at the story conference of her latest project with Richard Gutierrez and Rafael Rosell.
Aside from the names listed above, Qurator Studio dresses up Alden Richards, Dingdong Dantes, Sharon Cuneta, Sarah Geroniumo, Janine Gutierrez, Jinkee Pacquiao, and Julie Ann San Jose, among many others.
