Rufa Mae Quinto is a self-confessed bagaholic.
Believe it or not, the sexy comedienne has approximately over a hundred bags in her current collection—give or take a few that she might have given away or disposed of due to wear and tear.
What’s the priciest item in her collection?
“Yung Crocodile… Hermes Crocodile. Three million na,” she mentioned casually.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) bagged the chance to interview Rufa Mae during the ribbon-cutting ceremonies for Bag Talks (By LuxOnline.PH) held at One Uptown Residence in BGC in Taguig City on Friday, December 13, 2019.
Just like most of her showbiz friends with a keen fashion sense, Rufa Mae confessed that she’s actually more into shoes and jewelry.

“Yung shoes ko marami, mga 500. Talagang lumevel ako kay Imelda Marcos!” she proudly reveals.
The standouts in her collection?
She estimates, “Parang Gucci 'tsaka Givenchy, 100 plus, mahal din yung mga Chanel, e—yung mga boots. Yun.”
RUFA MAE'S FIRST LOVE
Now a proud mother of a two-year-old daughter with husband Trevor Magallanes, Rufa Mae admitted that her priorities have taken a radical turn, with her expensive “first love” taking a backseat to motherhood.
She mused, “Kaya nga bumabalik ako ngayon, kasi lahat ng hilig ko, kinalimutan ko for a while dahil nga sa anak ko.
“Parang… nag-alaga, nag-asawa—yun ang mga priorities ko, pero na-realize ko, hindi ako masaya na yun lang ang ginagawa ko, kaya binalikan ko sila, sila ang mga first love. Kaya ang tagal kong nag-asawa, di ba?”
Even then, Rufa Mae feels a great sense of pride in her collection of bags, shoes and other girly stuff which turned out to be worthy investments.
“Kasi gusto ko lang collect, o tingnan mo naman ngayon ang dami kong puwedeng ibenta, di ba?
“Yung pera ko, hindi ko nilustay sa gimmick, sa guys, kung saan-saan, ibig sabihin in-invest ko siya,” she said in retrospect.

Now older and more mature in her outlook, Rufa Mae has become more open to the idea of decluttering her closets—bags and all—Marie Kondo-style.
She partnered with her good friend Anna Magcawas, owner of Bag Talks (By LuxOnline.PH), to sell a sizeable chunk of her bag collection.

Being in showbiz has its perks, and Rufa Mae counts herself lucky for having friends who share her passion for bags and shoes, including Regine Velasquez and Heart Evangelista.
Recalling Regine’s generosity, she said, “Yung first shoes ko noon binigyan niya ako, dun sa Dahil May Isang Ikaw, movie namin ni Aga Muhlach. It was a pair of Dolce & Gabbana.”
She also remembered her sisterly bonding with Heart, “Kliyente ko din si Heart. Bumibili siya sa akin ng sapatos kasi magka-size kami.
“Kaya ako nagbenta, kasi nga tumawag siya sa akin, kinulit-kulit niya ako na, ‘Magkita na tayo, nandito na ‘ko sa Greenbelt.’
“’Tapos, sabi ko, ‘Ayy, wala, bukas pa!’ hanggang sa ending, pumunta na ‘ko sa bahay niya, dala-dala ko lahat. Siya na rin naglinis, kinarir naglinis. Hahaha! Totoo nga!”
“Nilatag niya lahat sa sahig ng bahay niya.”
She continues, “’Tapos, nagtawag pa ng friends. Ang suwerte nga, e.
“Pati kapatid niya, si Cam. Oo, mabait sila. Kaya nga hindi ko na nagawa after nun, kasi umalis na ko pa-America.
“So, ngayon kakaririn ko na, bili sila dito. Hahaha!”
Doesn’t she plan to follow in Heart’s footsteps in personally handpainting or customizing bags?
She said, “Hindi ako marunong, e. Natatakot ako, baka mamaya mahal, sayang.
“Hindi ako marunong, kahit bahay kubo hindi ko alam i-drawing, heart lang ang alam ko tsaka star.”

“Ako? Hermes… Ostrich, charot! Hahaha!”
“Hindi, hindi. Crocodile, kasi kakagatin ko sila. Magaling akong kumagat... at magpakagat. Charot! Hahaha!” she replies with a naughty wink.
Turning a tad serious, she elaborated, “Kasi parang… alam mo, forever sila, e.
“’Tapos, yun nga, siyempre expensive, ‘tapos hindi nagbabago ng hitsura.
“Kumbaga, all the time, all the way, come what may, all year every day, iyan pa rin ang style—hindi mo napansin?
“So parang habang buhay, hindi ka mawawala, ganun.”
