SB19 fondly recall their fashion choices during their "jeje" days
by Nikko Tuazon OPM boy band SB19 is known by their fans for their Korean-inspired OOTDs and stylish fashion choices.
But just like many Filipinos, they also went through a "jeje phase" or an awkward phase with questionable style preferences.
In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last April 21, 2021, Wednesday, the members of SB19—Pablo, Justin, Josh, Stell, and Ken—fondly recalled their fashion choices when they were a few years younger.
Josh revealed that his personal style, at that time, was highly influenced by anime.
He said, "Ako yung pinaka-jeje days ko yung otaku. Otaku lover ako, e. Kailangan yung buhok ko, mukhang anime talaga, ganyan.
"Tapos talagang ever since bata ako, parang hindi ako lalabas ng bahay na ano, hindi nakaayos yung buhok ko nun.
"Pero hindi naman siya ganun ka-ano, mild lang."
For his part, Stell closely follows the style trends during those years.
"Same lang din po sa kanila, normal jeje days lang po, kung ano po yung uso, yun po yung ginagawa ko.
"Like, 'One-sided bangs? O tara, one-sided bangs tayo... Plaid na polo? Sige plaid na polo tayo!' Yun lang po, kung ano po yung uso dati, yun lang po."
Pablo, on the other hand, is proud to say that the group's overall style has improved and matured over the years.
He told PEP.ph, "Siguro generally po, before po kasi, kung ano po yung uso or ano po yung sinusuot ng karamihan, ganun rin po kami manamit.
"Pero now, I think nag-mature na din po yung style namin compared dun sa mga releases namin before."
In the interview, the group also talked about clothes they wouldn't be caught wearing and some updates on their music plans for the year.
