Olivia Rodrigo, Bella Poarch, Saweetie, and Bretman Rock made sure global Pinoys were represented at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA).
These Filipino-blooded personalities rocked the red carpet of the 2021 VMAs that was held on Sunday, September 12 (U.S. time) at the Barclays Center in New York City.

Disney star Olivia Rodrigo wore a retro strapless red gown from Atelier Versace’s Spring/Summer 2001 Haute Couture collection. The '40s-inspired collection debuted on the runway two years before Olivia was born in 2003.
Olivia, born to an American mother and a Filipino-American father, is known for her smashing hits "good 4 u" and "Driver's License."
She took home three VMA trophies: Best New Artist, PUSH Performance of the Year, and Song of The Year for "Drivers License."
Beauty guru and MTV reality star Bretman Rock showed up at the 2021 MTV VMAs in an animal-print Roberto Cavalli gown, the exact same dress that the late singer Aaliyah wore at the 2000 VMAs.
In an Instagram post after the show, Bretman thanked the brand for letting him wear the archival piece.
He wrote: "No one will ever rock it like Aaliyah [tiger emoji] Thank you so much @roberto_cavalli for letting me wear this special piece..
"I never thought I would ever be able to wear this, let alone be in the VMAs, when they said I could wear it I literally cried of disbelief…
"I love Aaliyah and am so honored to have been able to wear this 21 years after her. We love you [dove emoji]"
TikTok superstar and "Build a B*tch" singer Bella Poarch made her presence felt at the awards show in her all-black ensemble.
The 24-year-old influencer-turned-singer wore a heavilly laced and beaded corset coat with a sculptural lace-up back bodice and sleeves. This was paired with lace bell-bottom pants and a massive train.
Her outfit was designed by Project Runway Season 14 alumna Candice Cuoco.
Bella born to Filipino parents in Pangasinan. She was adopted by her American father and Filipino mom at the age of three.
Saweetie looked gorgeous in her metallic pleated lamé maxi dress from Valentino's Resort 2022 collection.
The 28-year-old "ICY GRL" rapper also won during the 2021 MTV VMAs. Her music video "Best Friend" featuring Doja Cat won the award for Best Art Direction. Art Haynes is credited for the art direction of the music video.
Saweetie is of multi-racial descent, born to a Filipina mom and an African-American father.
