Philippine bet Beatrice Luigi Gomez did well at the Miss Universe 2021 preliminary competition on Friday night, December 10, 2021 in Israel (December 11 in the Philippines).
Bea is among the 80 candidates who are presently competing at the Universe Arena in Port of Eilat.
During her short introduction, the Cebuana model looked confident and flashed her megawatt smile.
She was clad in a sparkly cocktail dress from Portia and Scarlett, the official dress sponsor of the pageant.
In the swimsuit round of the competition, the 26-year-old beauty queen showed the pageant fans her "Silent Killer Walk."
She wore a hot pink swimsuit from Gottex swimwear.
For the evening gown competition, Bea was a picture of sophistication in her fiery red asymmetrical gown with cutouts designed by Francis Libiran.
In a previous interview, Francis said the gowns took inspiration from Bea's personality.
He said, "...I did not get any theme from nature or what, but it's more about the person. So Bea is my inspiration in designing all these gowns."
The pageant's Top 16 candidates, who will be selected by the panel of judges and via fan votes, will move forward to the semi-finals.
This year's panel of judges includes GMA-7's Primetime Queen Marian Rivera; Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima; Indian actress and Miss Universe 2015 candidate Urvashi Rautela; American model and social-media personality Lori Harvey; Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere; Puerto Rican actress Adamari Lopez; and American actress Rena Sofer.
Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst and Miss Universe 1976 Rina Mor, who is an Israeli lawyer, are part of the preliminary selection committee.
Andrea Meza of Mexico will pass her title to her successor at the grand coronation night happening this Sunday, December 12, 2021 (December 13 in the Philippines).
