GMA-7 actress Beauty Gonzalez prefers buying pre-loved over brand-new designer items.
She told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "It's just too much for me for a bag.
"I like a bag that I can, you know, let's say, an Hermès bag, I like it if namana ko from someone other than buying it for myself."
PEP.ph interviewed the 31-year-old Kapuso actress on May 12, 2022.
It's no secret that Beauty comes from an affluent family in Dumaguete City. She is the daughter of Carina Arriola Luche, who belongs to a political clan in Daanbantayan, Cebu, and former professional Jai Alai player Manuel Ybarra Gonzalez.
With her family background, not to mention her leading-lady status, Beauty has the means to splurge on designer items. But when buying luxury item, she does not go for the brand but by the standards of aesthetic and function.
She said, "Mas gusto ko like this na artistic na mga cloth or what.
"I don't like bags na takot ako madumihan. I don't like bags na takot ako ilagay sa lapag, parang ganun. I like something na I can use everywhere."

BEAUTY GONZALEZ: NOT BRAND CONSCIOUS
Her social-media followers would know she's not the type to drop name brands for her choice of OOTDs.
Beauty said, "Hindi ako yung tipong ita-tag ko lahat ng suot ko kung saan ko nabili. It's more, for me, on how it looks lang, how it goes [with my OOTD].
"And I want people to see na you don't have to... really have expensive clothes. It's how you carry your clothes and how you match it with everything.
"Hindi naman kailangan mahal, e."
She does have designer items in her closet, some of them from thrift stores.
The Kapuso star said, "I do dress something like that. I do have [luxury items], pero iba-iba clothes ko, e. I like ukay-ukay.
"Actually, ang dami kong nabibiling jacket na ukay-ukay, e. Kung alam lang nila."
Her favorite thrift shop is called Glorious Dias, which is located in Escolta, Manila. She also buys from ukay-ukay stores in Star Mall, Mandaluyong City.
She said, "May suki ako sa Escolta, Glorious Dias. I bought a lot of clothes from Glorious Dias. Di ba tag-one thousand yung per kilo niya?
"I go to Star Mall, I get mga Margiela Boots na bago-bago pa lang, paayos ko lang sa Quickie. And you know, it's nice for me. I like getting those stuff."
When asked about her guilty pleasures, Beauty mentioned shades, books, and art pieces.
She revealed, "Hindi ako nagtitipid sa shades. Yun yung problema ko. Shades and books. Yun yung luho ko.
"Hindi ako maluho sa gamit, e. Mas maluho ako sa paintings, antiques."
It helps that she is married to Norman Crisologo, an art curator, and she's thankful for that.
As she put it, "Mas naging maganda lang yung collection ko ngayon kasi dati baduy.
"Dahil, thankful sa kanya, mas na-expand yung taste ko. Dati kasi, 'Heh, chaka!
"Ngayon, na-edit na niya. All of my money goes there."
