When it comes to investing in fashion pieces, Jasmine Curtis-Smith believes gold jewelry is a more practical choice than luxury bags and shoes.

Speaking to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at the grand opening of F&C's newest flagship store in Glorietta Mall, Makati City, on September 23, 2026, the actress explains why she considers gold jewelry a worthwhile long-term investment.

Jasmine notes that many people are influenced by social media trends and often feel the urge to splurge on designer items, but she believes jewelry offers better value because it can retain or even increase its worth over time.

In her words: "Well, you know, alam niyo naman, pag tumitingin tayo ng social media, it's very easy to be... to be feeling like I need to buy this and that designer item.

"But if you're gonna look for designer stuff, why don't go for jewelry, for F&C jewelry, for gold?

"Because honestly, when you invest in jewelry pieces, these are pieces that over time, actually, the value either doesn't change or it goes higher.

"So it's always important that when you invest in pieces, not just bags or shoes, kasi those you can scratch, you can, you need to repair it over time.

"Jewelry, usually the repairing is easy also. It's easy maintenance."

Jasmine maintains that jewelry is a smarter investment, but emphasizes that people have their own preferences when it comes to spending and investing.

She tells PEP: "I think that's why in terms of investment pieces, it's better to invest in jewelry than shoes and bags.

"Pero kanya-kanyang trip din naman iyan. Go lang if you want that. But also think about investing in jewelry, too."

Jasmine Curtis-Smith's tips on layering jewelry

Jasmine has long been known for her chic yet understated sense of style, and that preference extends to her jewelry choices as well.

Having invested in her own collection over the years, the actress has also become a fan of "stacking," or the art of layering different jewelry pieces to create a polished look.

Jasmine shares two simple tips for those who want to experiment with layered jewelry without overdoing it.

TIP #1: Choose simple pieces that are easY to mix and match

Known for her minimalist aesthetic, Jasmine says she prefers fine chains and subtle accessories that can easily be mixed and matched.

"So I like minimalist jewelry. Usually, I like fine chains. I like to make it more simple and hindi kasi ako maximalist.

"So whenever I go for colors, especially, ayan, I trusted the women behind the counters to help me out with matching the colors and also what goes with each other, even these two."

Using the jewelry she wore during the event as an example, Jasmine points out how unique stones and colors can add interest to an otherwise simple look.

"It's [this ring] a different kind of stone. This [other one] is rose quartz, and this, I forget, blue something.

TIP #2: Don't be afraid to ask jewelry consultants for help

For beginners who are unsure how to pair different pieces together, Jasmine recommends asking guidance from jewelry consultants, who often have extensive experience putting together various requests of clients.

According to Jasmine, asking for expert advice can take away the guesswork, especially when experimenting with different lengths, colors, and styles for the first time.

She says: "So when it comes to stacking, if you're not used to it, I would say also ask the women behind the counter, 'cause usually they've seen all sorts of combinations.

"And for the neck, I like to keep it clean para it's like feminine but sexy at the same time."
