When fashion connoisseurs single you out as a noteworthy face during Paris Fashion Week, you've made it.
Model Rina Fukushi, who's praised by the Japanese press for being "exotic," is the daughter of a Filipino mother and a Japanese-American father.
Vogue writer Janelle Okwodu notes that 17-year-old Rina has an "ultra cool vibe" and "the kind of eye-catching beauty that makes casting directors sit up and take notice."
Fashion insiders say Rina is poised to become a supermodel.
"Rina is already the veteran of seasons in Paris, Milan, and New York—giving American models Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner a run for their money," points out Agence France-Presse (AFP).
Apparently, Rina, who was discovered by a model scout when she was 14, has walked for Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, Bottega Veneta, Chlo, and Miu Miu.
This despite the fact that at just 5 feet 9 inches, Rina is considered "short for a runway model by Western standards."
Designers tend to prefer taller models (around 5 feet 11 inches) for their runway shows.
As AFP reveals, "It's one of the reasons [Rina] admires Kate Moss so much."
In fact, the British supermodel who is famous for her "waif look," is just 5 feet 7 inches.
When asked about how she deals with the pressure on models, Rina simply said, "If I am confident that clothes look good on me, people don't see anything wrong. So it doesn't annoy me."
That's a supermodel right there. Check out her photos for good measure.
