It was a "dream come true" for the reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach to wear the iconic Mikimoto crown, which was given to Miss Universe winners from 2002 to 2007.
Pia had the chance to wear it for her final photo shoot as Miss Universe.
The design was inspired by the phoenix, which signifies "status, power, and beauty."
It was adorned with over 500 diamonds weighing almost 30 carats; 120 white South Sea and Akoya pearls, with size ranging from 3.0 to18 mm.
The reported cost of such exquisite crown? Approximately $200,000 or PHP 9,960,000.
Didn't the Mikimoto crown look perfect on Pia?
The Miss Universe Organization remarked that the Filipina beauty queen truly "embodies elegance, tradition and grace."
Pia's four-man glam team included Elin Nyberg for the hair, Wendi Miyake for the makeup, and stylists Filbert Kung and Marquis Bias.
Meanwhile, the red beaded gown was a masterpiece of Dubai-based Filipino designer Michael Cinco.
