Remember the Leo Almodal gown that Miss Earth 2016 Katherine Espin wore at the pageant's coronation night last October 29, 2016?
The yellow gown became controversial after former Miss Earth Philippines 2016 Imelda Schweighart claimed that it was "stolen" from her.
But through Facebook, Almodal was able to explain why he and his team decided to let the Ecuadorian candidate use the frock.
"...I didn't finish the gown of Ecuador on time which I am obliged because she already paid half of the amount as downpayment. My team made that decision to dress her up in that yellow gown.
"It was actually a blessing in disguise that saved me from further troubles, shame and humiliation. I believe that things happen for a reason and checking the fit, length, and style of the gown; it suits Katherine perfectly."
A few days after the Miss Earth pageant, the designer posted on Instagram a photo of the finished gown.
On February 27, 2017, the 24-year-old beauty queen finally got to wear it for a shoot.
The crystal-embellished see-through gown was a masterpiece.
On Instagram, Katherine wrote, "I present to you the final gown I was supposed to use on the final night of Miss Earth 2016, but due to some [inconvenience], it wasn't finished [on] time, but now it's finished and looking absolutely fabulous!
"Thanks to @leoalmodal for this amazing creation made for me!"
Kath's photo shoot also included former Miss Earth titleholders Angelia Ong and Jamie Herrell.
