Klea Pineda is every inch a beauty queen at her 18th birthday celebration on Saturday night, March 25, at the poolside of Nobu Hotel, City of Dreams in Pasay City.
In a short chat with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) after the party, celebrity stylist Ryuji Sjiomitsu revealed his inspirations behind the debutante's looks.
The Starstruck VI ultimate female survivor, who dreams of becoming a beauty queen, made a grand entrance wearing a couture creation by Filipino designer Leo Almodal.
Leo has dressed Miss Earth queens Jamie Herrell and Angelia Ong, and the current title holder, Ecuadorian beauty Katherine Espin.
Klea wore a chartreuse colored gown with a fully embellished bodice.
The design reminded Ryuji of Klea's character in Encantadia.
He explained, "It was actually, like almost made for her kasi it was just fresh from the studio. We just got it for her to wear today."
The celeb stylist added, "Para siyang si Muyak [her character] as you can see from the color, from the embellishments, I love it on her."
When asked if Klea had specific requests, Ryuji said, "She really wanted something fresh and very accessible for people to see, very bohemian lang.
"She's a carefree spirit and that's what we love about Klea."
Folden&Hung sought the help of Kim Gan to design the second gown of its brand ambassador.
Ryuji said, "That was a collaboration between Lea and Kim Gan so, we we just wanted something white and fresh and florals, para at least very summery and very bohemian."
Marketing Manager Arvie Dizon added, "Since we are pushing for the summer collection, and Klea's one of our endorsers, we decided to collaborate with a designer and also a friend of mine, Kim Gan.
"We want to inject... she's since a designer for beauty queens as well and we all know that Klea has been wanting to be one, so we decided to commission the designer to create a bohemian-inspired dress."
For the after party, Klea changed into a denim on denim combo. Underneath her jacket, she wore a forest green swimsuit.
The Encantadia star's final outfit for the night was part of Folden&Hung's Summer 2017 collection.
Arvie told PEP, "Last minute, we decided to give her the more sultry or edgy look as a kick-start of her being a woman already."
For her accessories, Ryuji said, "Actually we just toned it down. We just made her wear simple earrings and bracelets lang."
For her shoes, Klea had no choice but to wear heels.
Ryuji continued, "We actually made her wear pink heels. She doesn't love heels, actually. She loves wearing sneakers. It was something new for Klea."
Celebrity hairstylist Mark Anthony Rosales picked beach waves and braids for her first two looks. He changed it to a top knot when Klea changed into her denims.
Meanwhile, celebrity makeup artist Jason delos Reyes gave Klea a fresh and barely-there makeup.
Ryuji told PEP, "For the hair, we just went for a more casual look, beach waves, very casual look.
"Mark braided her hair.
"And si Jason, very bronzy, very brown makeup, very neutral."
