Just  because it's summer in our tropical country doesn't mean our hubadera outfits must take center stage.

What if we don't want to wear sleeveless? What if we're not so hot about shorts? (Philippine Entertainment Portal) sought the help of Kathryn Bernardo's go-to stylist Kimi Yap for some style tips and tricks.

1. Summer 2017 is all about cuban-chic.

Expect a burst of colors from summer-inspired and floral prints to off-shoulder dresses in different lengths.

Also, don't be afraid to over-accessorize.

Kimi said, "Tie your hair with scarves and colorful headbands, pair them with colorful oversized earrings with fringes and tassels.

"Tinted shades are also a must have to complete your cuban-chic look."

"Go out in the sun with sheer skirts, tops, and dresses that can be worn into the night.

4. Slip or slide on!

Slip-on loafers are the latest footwear trend this 2017. Make sure to have one if you want to be trendy.

Kimi suggested, "A big trend this summer are footwear slides!

"You can opt for a simple design or ones that are embellished with stones.

"Either way, it can be a fashionable statement piece for your outfit."

5. Keep it light!

Lightweight fabric such as chiffon, cotton, and silk will help you get through the summer heat.

Kimi explained, "Since we live in a tropical climate, the hot temperature can sometimes be so unforgiving.

"Choose to wear fabrics that are light so you will always look fresh and comfortable even under the scorching sun."
