In 2012, wearing socks with heels or sandals became all the rage after Hollywood celebrities like Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, not to mention Gigi Hadid and other runway supermodels, made it look so fashionably cool.
But this trend most likely started much, much earlier.
Remember Dorothy's blue ankle socks and her ruby shoes in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz?
Locally, some stars have jumped on the bandwagon.
Heart Evangelista, for instance, had made them her fashion staples when she went to Seoul, South Korea, where some scenes were shot for her upcoming Kapuso series My Korean Jagiya.
Likewise, Anne Curtis's obsession with K-Pop had probably influenced this OOTD.
South Koreans embrace the trend during winter.
Recently, Sarah Lahbati posted this shoefie featuring a pair of Balenciaga socks and disco-ball-inspired heels.
Their followers had mixed reactions. Some commented, "Hindi bagay sa weather."
How about you? Will you wear socks with heels?
