Gabbi Garcia on being a fashion inspiration to young women like her: "It's nice to inspire also other younger girls, to really dress up and be themselves."

Gabbi Garcia seems to be everywhere these days—from billboards to magazines and events.

It’s safe to say, then, that she’s local fashion’s new “It Girl.”

Just this year, the 18-year-old Kapuso actress has graced a number of fashion magazine covers and digital features, and has slayed every fashion and red carpet event.

She was Preview magazine's cover last April, and she’ll soon appear as the newest cover girl of Cosmopolitan Philippines’  August 2017 issue.

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and GMA News caught up with the Encantadia star last Thursday, July 27, at Preview's 22nd Annual Best Dressed Ball held at Yes Please club in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

She said, "Of course, it's flattering, and, at the same time, I love it that I could express myself through fashion 'cause fashion is very special to me.

"It's nice to inspire also other younger girls, to really dress up and be themselves."

FASHION TRANSFORMATION. Coming from her teeny-bopper image, Gabbi has completely grown into a fine, sophisticated young lady who definitely knows her style.

Over the past few months, Gabbi has been making heads turn with her choice of OOTDs for several fashion and red carpet events.

Her all-white Charina Sarte dress during YES! magazine's 100 Most Beautiful Stars of 2017 launch party was definitely one of her best fashion moments.

Meanwhile, her choice of the Yong Davalos bespoke dress at the Preview Ball easily made her one a standout that night.

The chic actress credits her stylist Kat Cruz and her glam team, including Mark Anthony Rosales and Jason delos Reyes, for her sartorial success.

The Kapuso teen star further related how thankful she is to have found a “fashion fairy godmother” in Kat, who has been her stylist ever since she entered showbiz back in 2014.

She narrated, "We really communicate when it comes to dressing up, and Kat knows my style, e, what I really want. We really get along.

“There's really relationship between the artist and the stylist."

She continued, "Meron kayong chemistry e yung alam niyo kung saan kayo magki-click.

“So I really think Kat and I really get along with that.”

Contrary to her pasabog red carpet looks, Gabbi's off-duty style, however, is more minimalist.

The Encantadia star explained, "I'm a very basic person, I'm a minimalist, but then when it comes to events and when there's a theme, I always see to it that I'll be different and explore [new styles].

“So yeah, kinda experimental also."

What advice can she give to those who want to be as fashionable as she is?

"I don't really have a peg or like, 'Oh, I want to be like this.'

“It's just really being myself, and that stands out the most," she replied.
