Sabina Gonzalez has stepped into the fashion world as a model, following the footsteps of her mother Tweetie de Leon-Gonzalez.
This morena beauty made her runway debut in August 2015, at a fashion show featuring the collection of designer Maureen Disini.
Back then, among the first to notice her was designer Rhett Eala, who took to Instagram to express his admiration.
"She looked fresh and stunning. Her body is amazing. [She has] perfect shoulders. Her walk [is] all her own, [it’s] so natural.”
Sabina has since become a familiar face in the fashion world.
Six months after her first walk, she launched the collaboration of two local brands: clothing and makeup.
But the 21-year-old lady considers herself a student more than a runway model.
"I'm still a student, so that always comes first," Sabina told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), during a short chat on the third day of the Bench Fashion Week last September 9, at the BENCH Tower in Bonifacio Global City.
The Architecture student from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde still has "two more years to go."
Sabina describes her current life as "hectic and time-consuming."
"My schedule is quite full a lot of the time, but I'm enjoying it."
Despite her easy access to all things glamorous in the industry, Sabina wouldn't consider herself as a "trend-conscious" shopper.
In fact, she would like to live by the "classics," just like her mom.
"Not a necessity," she says about trendy clothes and accessories.
"If I like something, then I like it.
"But I never go for anything too trendy.
"I lean more towards budget conscious."
"FANTASTIC ROLE MODEL." As Sabina continues her work as a model, she believes she's fortunate to have a "fantastic role model" in her mom Tweetie.
"She's a fantastic role model. I'm very lucky to have that kind of figure in my life."
Tweetie's common career advice to Sabina, "Always remain professional… stay humble. My mom very much lives by those [principles.]"
