Missing from the lineup of Bench endorsers who will be participating in its 30th anniversary event are the K-Pop stars.
In the last few years, the brand had Super Junior's Lee DongHae and Si Won, Lee Min Ho, 2PM's Nichkhun Horvejkul, and Park Shin Hye, who was launched last July.
The much-anticipated underwear and denim show is slated for November 18, at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena.
At the sneak peek last October 23, in Ibiza Beach Club, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) got to ask Ben Chan, the company's founder and chief executive officer, about his reasons.
"No. E, di puno 'yan [MOA], jampacked 'yan.
"The reason, one was Park Shin Hye. I wasn’t expecting that much crowd pero napuno niya ang Araneta."
The Korean actress and singer went to the Philippines for her Flower of Angel fun meet and concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on July 28, sponsored by Bench.
Ben said they decided not to include her and other Korean stars in the show's lineup for safety reasons.
“Baka lang may maaksidente or what. Mahirap isama 'yan, e."
He added in jest, "Maraming demands ang Korean, di ba? Kelangan ganito. Baka wala ng dressing room yung iba, you know. I’m just exaggerating."
ACTS TO WATCH. Jake Cuenca was among the most talked-about celebrities who walked the runway in The Naked Truth in 2014.
He made his entrance via a trapeze and floated down the stage with nothing on but a jockstrap that revealed his butt cheeks.
On the explosive acts in the past years, Ben said, “You know, those pasabog, it was not part of the show. It was on their own what they did. Bahala sila.
“I’m not sure, I’m just saying hindi naman namin control yun."
