Nadine Lustre is not a brand-conscious shopper

Nadine Lustre likes to keep her fashion style different from the rest: "My outfits are not very girly, it's always street."

It's no secret that Nadine Lustre loves to dress up, and is not the type to say no to an edgy or avant-garde style.

Just take a look at the Garimon Roferos ensemble that she wore to ABS-CBN Ball 2018.

Nadine said she took inspiration from UK singer FKA Twigs.

"I listen to her a lot. She's an artist na medyo weird yung aesthetic niya," the actress-performer told (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and two other members of the press at the Skechers D-Lites party last October 4, at Yes Please! in Bonifacio Global City.

"Medyo weird aesthetics niya. Parang beautiful but very sharp in the edges, something like that.

"Because I've been listening to FKA Twigs a lot, the concept kind of came from her and also watching Drag Race."

Drag Race is the Emmy award-winning U.S. reality competition RuPaul's Drag Race, a show that celebrates drag queen fashion and talent.

But when it came to Nadine's off-duty look, she identified her style as "street...something that a lot of people can relate to."

Sneakers, she said, easily fit her usual OOTDs.

"Street kasi, you think sneakers—something comfortable but stylish.

"Athleisure is more polished. It's more put-together… street kasi very comfy."

Was Nadine ever conscious about brands?

She immediately answered, "I'm not. I'm actually not.

"As long as I know that the piece suits me well, it doesn't matter what brand it is."

Nadine mostly shopped for clothes online, where there were much more unique street-style finds.

"I'm not really the girly type. My outfits are not very girly, it's always street. I like to be different with the clothes I wear."
