The minimalist, grungy, and functional style of the 1990s came around back in 2018 with a bang.

The hottest look of the year: tattered jeans and sneakers paired with power suits.

Check out this year's style that trended among the celebrities.

CHUNKY SNEAKERS

Balenciaga brought back the "ugly sneaker" trend, also known as chunky sneakers or dad sneakers, at the Fall/Winter 2017 runway show.

The trend spilled over in 2018 when luxury brands Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Lanvin along with the sporty Fila and New Balance released stylish versions of "ugly sneakers."

LOGOMANIA

The 90's obsession with logo prints also made a comeback in 2018.

Luxury fashion houses such as Gucci and Versace revived the look in their ready-to-wear clothing line and accessories wildly plastered with their logos and brand names.

Fendi also reinvented the retro FF 'Zucca' monogram that was seen in the OOTDs of Marian Rivera, Jinkee Pacquiao and Kris Aquino.

BELT BAGS

Fanny packs or belt bags also remained the go-to accessory of some celebrities.

These functional bags, however, aren't worn around the waist anymore.

Instead celebrities and style influencers have transformed them into crossbody bags.

EAR CUFF

Celebrities have been wearing ear cuffs as statement accessories.

It's safe to say that Catriona Gray sparked more interest in the accessory with the patriotic "Three Stars and a Sun" ear cuff from Tessera Jewelry that she wore after winning both Binibining Pilipinas and Miss Universe 2018.
