The milk tea craze continues to grow in the Philippines!
In fact, the country is the second biggest consumer of milk tea in Southeast Asia following Indonesia, according to data of GrabFood, one of the biggest fast-food delivery services in the metro.
But don't you get a little "umay" drinking the same beverage on a regular basis?
This is probably why several milk tea shops have decided to add new concoctions on their menu.
Here are five of the must-try drinks around the city in case you've gotten tired by now drinking your usual milk tea. Check them out below.
COCO FRESH TEA & JUICE
Last September 17, Coco Fresh Tea & Juice officially revealed their latest offering, the Caramel Chocolate Cream Slush.
This drink made its debut during the CoCo Chill Camp held at the SM Mega Fashion Hall in Mandaluyong City.
The Caramel Chocolate Cream Slush is made with chocolate slush and swirls of caramel topped with a layer of velvety cream. It sells at PHP155.
Those who will buy this drink also get to customize their drink and choose their add-ons. The ingredients are mostly sweet, so it's better to have your drink's sugar level below 50 percent for your health's sake.
TIGER SUGAR
Taiwan's Tiger Sugar have also introduced new flavors exclusively for Filipinos.
Those who prefer chocolate can try the milk tea shop's Brown Sugar Boba Chocolate With Cream. This drink is made with milk blended with Hershey's Chocolate and topped with cream, brown-sugar syrup, and brown-sugar boba.
Tiger Sugar also launched the Brown Sugar Boba Cafe Latte With Cream for coffee-drinkers. This beverage is made with an iced latte and brown sugar pearls.
Both drinks are each priced at PHP160, and were launched last September 11 at Clock-In Digital Library in Bonifacio Global City. Limited cups will be served per day.
DAKASI
Since it's avocado season, the Taiwanese milk tea shop Dakasi has added the Creme Avocado drink on their menu. According to Yummy.ph's interview with Louise Dizon of Dakasi Philippines, this drink is made using fresh avocados and fresh milk with creme.
Dakasi completely sold out their Creme Avocado drink on it's first day last Sunday, September 22. The milk tea shop, however, confirms on their Instagram account that they will replenish their stocks in the coming days.
This drink sells at PHP180.
CHATIME
Taiwanese teahouse Chatime also relaunched their Thai Milk Tea beverage last August 30. This milk tea drink is usually made with black tea, sugar, spices, sugar, and a mix of sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk.
Chatime also introduced the Thai Tea Mousse, which is also made with black tea, sugar, spices, milk, and mousse powder.
Both drinks are best paired with the teahouse's new sticky rice add-on. Each has a base price of PHP95.
