If not for the COVID-19 outbreak, Bea Binene's coffee business, Mix and Brew Coffee, would have celebrated its first anniversary on June16.

With restrictions imposed on public places following the quarantine and lockdown protocols in March 2020, Bea's coffee booth at the food court of SM Megamall remains closed at press time.

But despite being saddled by the challenges of running a business at these trying times, Bea is forging on.

She told (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "Right now, super simple lang to bounce back. Because it is really hard.

"Mahirap kasi hindi mo alam kung kelan babalik sa normal ang lahat." inteviewed the former child star via Instagram on Sunday, July 19, about the impact of the pandemic on her business.

Bea said, "We weren't able to celebrate our anniversary properly, di natuloy yung mga marketing plans.

She mused, "Not everything will go just the way you like, may dadating at dadating na pagsubok."

However, the actress is bent on bouncing back to ensure the survival of her business.

In fact, the 22-year-old Kapuso actress is looking at reopening Mix and Brew Coffee real soon.

She announced, "Open na yung food court, but kami hindi pa. But we will be opening soon! Maybe a week or two weeks from now...

Looking forward, Bea said she has devised an action plan for the reopening of her coffee booth.

She told, "There will be changes, definitely. I’m just waiting for our acrylic frames to be installed.

"Nagpalagay ako kahit di naman mandatory sa DTI [Department of Trade Indusry] regulations.

"Of course, we will be implementing stricter sanitation and proper hygiene...

"I ordered face masks and shields for my staff already. Alcohol will be available at our counter.

"For food court naman (since were located at the food court nga), before entering the food court, may health declaration na kailangan i-fill up, temperature checks...

"And the seats are marked kung san lang pwede maupo, there are also marks on the floor for social distancing."

According to Bea, Mix and Brew will also start food delivery to nearby areas in Mandaluyong, "We will be available na for Grab once we reopen.

Being a new entrepreneur, Bea admitted she's still feeling her way through, "I think I’m still at the learning phase.

"Siguro kailangan lang ng tulungan and trust with your staff and the people around you.

"I learned to ask and accept other people's feedbacks."

And kudos to Bea, she has come a long way in the short time she started Mix and Brew up to this point when single-handedly, she is keeping her business afloat.

She recalled, "I was very hands on, I basically did everything by myself––from talking to the mall admin, meetings, to searching for suppliers, to getting permits etc.

"When we opened my Titas helped me naman na with managing it.

"I realized that the challenges doesn't stop at pag bukas na ang store.

"Kasi after you've passed that stage, meron uling challenge na haharap sa iyo, yung marketing, yung pagiging consistent ng service and products mo.

"Yung research and development ng bagong products para mag aabangan ang customers, yung expansion ng business, yung pag handle ng staff and all."
