“The story of my menu is my childhood food favorites,” hayag ni Lord sa interview ng CBS Saturday Morning nitong December 14, 2024.

SPOILED BRAT FROM THE PHILIPPINES

“Maids, cooks, chauffeurs. Like, I don’t really do anything much than go to school. Basically, I’m [a] brat,” aniya sa CBS Saturday Mornings.

Lumaki siyang hindi mahilig sa pagluluto. Ayaw niya ring nagtatrabaho.

“I’ve never done anything. That’s the reason why I decided to come to America coz I was spoiled.”

Tanong daw niya sa sarili, “I’m just gonna be like this forever? Like how can I teach my kids, my future kids how to live on their own if me, myself don’t know how to clean my own bedroom?”

“The first time I used the broom and starts sweeping the floor mopping, I called my mom righ`t away: ‘Hey mom, guess what, I’m mopping the floor.’ And she’s so proud. She’s so proud of me. Because she knows I’m never gonna do that back home.”

Then pandemic happened.

LORD OPENS HIS OWN RESTO

“It took me a month to process that. But it means a lot. It’s good for my restaurant, but also for the other Filipino restaurants.

“We need to push more and show to people that these are our food.”

I always tell everyone, ‘If you’re gonna do something, do it like perfect. If you’re doing good, then you’re lazy. It needs to be the best.”
