Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow prepares a beloved Filipino dish in a video posted on Instagram.
Gwyneth's latest "#boyfriendbreakfast" video, uploaded on October 17, 2026, featured tortang talong.
The 54-year-old American actress is seen grilling an eggplant over the stove before peeling off its skin.
She also sautés minced meat, dips the peeled eggplant in beaten eggs, then combines the ingredients to finish the dish.
To top it all, Gwyneth also made banana ketchup—the distinctly Filipino condiment invented by Filipino chemist and food technologist Maria Orosa Ylagan during World War II—from scratch to pair with the tortang talong.
"Tortang Talong with garlicky turkey crumbles and banana ketchup. A Filipino breakfast classic," Gwyneth captioned her video post.

LOCAL CELEBRITIES REACT
As expected, Gwyneth’s post caught the attention of Filipinos online, including local showbiz personalities who follow the award-winning actress.
Erwann Heussaff thanked her for calling the dish "tortang talong" instead of "eggplant omelette."

This is not the first time Gwyneth showcased her skills in cooking Filipino food.
On April 6, 2025, she shared an Instagram Reel showing her making a homemade version of pork tocino, a classic Filipino breakfast staple.

She wrote in the caption: “Tried my hand at making pork tocino this morning—sweet, savory, and incredibly flavorful. Brad requested cauliflower rice for a carb-light #boyfriendbreakfast.”
The Brad she was referring to was her husband, television writer and producer Brad Falchuk, whom she married in September 2018.
