Have you ever wondered why bottled drinks and other liquid products aren’t filled to the brim? The space between the liquid and the top of the container plays a crucial role.

Sabi ng chef: “Sa pressure canning na gagawin natin, kapag gumagawa kayo, in any form—ulam, whatever—kinakailangan kapag naglalagay ka sa bote, there has to be a headspace, at least like, three-fourths of an inch. Basta wag sagad.

“During pressure, canning your food expands baka sumabog iyan.

“So headspace is very important in pressure canning.”

THE IMPORTANCE OF HEADSPACE IN FOOD AND BEVERAGES

“Leaving the correct depth of headspace is essential to achieve a vacuum seal,” paliwanag dito.

“Any food residue remaining on the jar rim, such as grease, juice, seeds or pulp can prevent the formation of an airtight seal.”

IMPORTANCE OF HEADSPACE IN CHEMICAL PACKAGING

“In chemical packaging, every detail counts, and headspace is one of the most critical factors that can determine a product’s stability and safety."

Sabi pa ng CPI: "This gap might seem trivial, but it plays a crucial role in controlling chemical reactions, pressure buildup, and container integrity.”

Paliwanag ng CPI: “Properly managed headspace supports chemical stability, prevents leaks or container damage, and ensures products meet customer expectations.”
