To those who recently sighted Anthony Taberna near the GMA area, nope, he's not leaving ABS-CBN.
The Umagang Kay Ganda host recently opened the Timog branch of his business, Ka Tunying's Cafe, which is found across the GMA Network Center.
The soft-opening event also celebrated the first anniversary of Ka Tunying’s Cafe on Visayas Avenue, the tenth anniversary of his wife Rossel's events company Outbox Media Powerhouse, and the latter's birthday.
Here's a peek into their menu, which also serves "luto ni Nanay."
And, of course, bread!
In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Anthony himself put a lid on the transfer rumors.
“As to the proximity of Ka Tunying’s Cafe doon sa GMA-7, siguro maganda lang talaga yung puwesto at wala naman itong kinalaman sa aking career.”
He admitted to inviting Kapuso anchors and reporters to visit his bakery/cafe because some of them are his friends.
But he's been happy with ABS-CBN.
"Ang ABS-CBN ay napaka-supportive naman sa career ko hanggang sa ngayon. Maganda naman ang pagtrato sa akin ng kumpanya.
"Wala naman kaming pag-uusap pa tungkol sa kontrata namin.
"Ang kagandahan namin kasi ngayon, meron silang tiwala sa akin.
"I’m sure magiging matagal pa ang pagsasama namin."
He underlined he really has no plan of transferring to GMA.
“Wala naman ganun.
“As of now, meron akong existing contract with ABS-CBN and it’s until at the end of the year.
"I’m sure magkakaroon kami ng mga pag-uusap before my contract expires,” ended Ka Tunying.
