You can make your own sushi in Rocco Nacino's restaurant

Pao Francisco and Rocco Nacino are two of the 15 owners of Yuan Asian Bistro.

Over a glass of whisky, Yuan Asian Bistro was born.

Rocco Nacino's good friend Pao Francisco was the one who brought up the idea.

The Kapuso actor told (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in a recent shoot for PEP Eats, "I said ‘yes’ to the group dahil nakita ko yung potential, of course, with the partners kasi we are all coming from different fields of business.

"Some are DJs, some are emcees, some are stylists, designers, some are in the showbiz industry, at iba talaga, sa business marketing, so putting all of that together, sabi ko, ‘Parang may potential 'to.’"

That makes 15 successful individuals—including Chef Kel Zaguirre of Locavore, FAT, and Empingao—running the restaurant.

Also among the co-owners was Rocco's fellow Encantadia star Carlo Gonzalez.

"Nasa 15, kailangan malaki capital namin for a place na alam namin na parang talagang gagastusan namin.

"I got my gut feel again, yung kilabot na parang puwede 'to, let’s do it, and true enough, naging successful kami...we're really happy."

How's the division of labor?

Rocco is more on the marketing side.

The 29-year-old actor said, "I help out with the marketing team. Sometimes ah hindi ko siya trabaho, but I help out.

"Hindi lang ako basta investor.

"You know when I invest in something, I make sure I give my one hundred ten para hindi ako basta naglabas ng pera at naghihintay ng ROI [return of investment] ko, ng dividends ko, no.

"I become part of something, I wanna be really part of it, literally.

"So I do things like this, I post about it, alam natin kung ga'no kalakas ang social media pero iba pa rin ang hatak ng word-of-mouth.

"So we invite people, we invite our family and friends, and we give them a good experience."

The Kapuso star is now part of several businesses: his branch of Rufo's on Timog Avenue, the Backyard group in Fort, Bonifacio Global City, the branches of Elorde's Gym on Ortigas Avenue and Marcos Highway.

Back to Yuan Asian Bistro, Rocco took pride in their Do-It-Yourself Sushi.

"Nagkalat ang mga sushi bars pero at least we can be like one mini sushi bar with a twist, di ba?"

For PHP 349.00, one can enjoy making his own favorite sushi with the DIY Sushi Hand Roll Set.
