Enzo Pineda has a surprising hobby: cooking!

Enzo Pineda on how his passion for cooking and baking started: "Mahilig ako sa masasarap na pagkain, and, I guess, I really have a sweet tooth talaga, so in my spare time, pag wala akong work kain lang ako nang kain."


Enzo Pineda has a lot of interests.

Aside from being an actor and fitness enthusiast, he's also a certified foodie. 

If he didn't turn out to be an actor, he'd probably be in the restaurant or food business.

Enzo revealed his passion for food and cooking in an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last June 27.

The 26-year-old Kapamilya actor was tapped by Dr. Gerry Malvar as the newest endorser of Allegra's Kitchen.


At the moment, Enzo considers his showbiz career as his bread and butter.

However, the Pusong Ligaw star said he's now planning to explore his other passions as a potential source of income.

He explained, "It's nice to have other options to earn money.

"Acting is my passion, but of course, marami pa namang passions na you can turn into business.

"And what if nawala yung isa?

"It's always nice to have a back-up para secure ka sa buhay mo."


LONG-TIME DREAM. One of his goals is to have his own restaurant business.

Enzo is even planning on getting a franchise of Allegra's Kitchen, the restaurant he's endorsing. 

PEP asked how his interest in cooking started.

"Mahilig ako sa masasarap na pagkain, and, I guess, I really have a sweet tooth talaga, so in my spare time, pag wala akong work, kain lang ako nang kain.

"Nung high school ako, I had this cooking class sa La Salle, so that's where it started na una, parang nakakatamad.

"Like, paano ba ang tamang pag-crack ng itlog and everything.

"It just became a hobby and then tuluy-tuloy na."

His background in Entrepreneural Management might come in handy when he finally puts up a restaurant business.

Still, the actor said he would also like to study culinary arts and develop his skills in cooking or baking.

Enzo told PEP, "I took up Entrepreneurial Management which is business, and ang goal ko talaga is I wish I took up culinary. 

"It's more specific kasi sa gusto kong line of business, e.

"Kasi yung business [course na kinuha ko] is in general, pero I wish I took up culinary para it's something specific sa gusto ko talaga.

"Pero kaya pa, kaya pa [i-pursue]."


SPECIALTY. At home, Enzo said he's very much willing to cook for his family and friends every time they have a celebration.

He said, "'Pag may events, gathering, or kung ano man trip nila.

"Sometimes, I grill steaks, make burgers, or bake—kung ano yung gusto ng family ko."

Enzo said he learned to cook by himself while watching YouTube videos. He also attended several cooking lessons to improve his skills.

"Marunong din ako mag-bake.

"Actually, I took up Japanese cooking lessons before. Marunong akong gumawa ng sushi.

"In Sofitel, they had like a three-day class and, on my own, I watch videos ng mga favorite food ko, so ginagawa ko sa bahay.

"I know how to bake cookies, marunong ako gumawa ng moist chocolate cake, pati burgers marunong din ako," he beamed.

But his specialty is a Filipino-Italian fusion dish.

He said, "Mahilig ako sa fusion e so I made this parang Filipino-Italian dish. It's tocino carbonara.

"So, it's just tocino on pasta with white-based sauce."
