Cooking adobo may seem simple, but many Filipinos know that getting the perfect balance of flavor can still be tricky.
On social media, people have been sharing their kitchen mishaps through the viral #AdoboFails trend—posting everything from burnt batches to overly salty versions of the classic Filipino dish.
Instead of getting embarrassed, many are choosing to laugh it off online. The trend has become a lighthearted way for people to show that even beloved staples like adobo can go wrong sometimes—and that’s part of the fun of cooking.
Celebrities and content creators are also joining in on the conversation. Emilio Daez, Joy Barcoma, and Kaila Dy have partnered with Knorr for the #AdoboFails campaign, proving that even public figures aren’t immune to kitchen slip-ups.
In his post, Emilio Daez shared how his first attempt at cooking adobo ended up sunog—a common mishap when the dish cooks a little too long.
Determined to get it right, he tried again with confidence, this time using Knorr Chicken Cubes to bring out the dish’s rich, savory flavor.
Meanwhile, Joy Barcoma revealed that her adobo turned out maalat, something that can easily happen when the seasoning gets a little too heavy.

She showed how adjusting the dish and adding Knorr Cubes helped balance the flavor and transform it into a more satisfying, meaty-sarap adobo.
Content creator Kaila Dy had the opposite problem—her adobo came out matabang. In her post, she demonstrated how a simple fix using Knorr Cubes helped boost the flavor, turning a bland dish into a more delicious one.

Their posts highlight a relatable reality for many home cooks: mistakes in the kitchen happen to everyone, even celebrities.
The viral #AdoboFails trend also arrives just in time for Adobo Day on March 15, a celebration of one of the Philippines’ most iconic dishes. Through the campaign, Knorr encourages Filipinos to keep experimenting in the kitchen and not be discouraged by cooking mishaps.
After all, even a failed adobo can still turn into a meaty-sarap dish—with the right fix.
