Isabelle de Leon, the former child star, is now an aspiring beauty queen with a well-toned physique.
She got to flaunt her fit body on the pageant stage as one of the Top 40 candidates vying for the title of Miss World Philippines 2019.
The 25-year-old actress/singer, however, said she did not become physically fit overnight. She had to work hard for it.
Isabelle revealed her fitness journey to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview last Sunday, August 4, at C3 Events Place in San Juan City.
She said, "I started working out and I started dieting. It wasn't fun at first, but your body will get used to it."
When asked about her workout routine, Isabelle said she keeps it simple. She revealed, "I do cardio. I do a lot of cardio. I also belly dance a lot. I just try to stay as active as I can."
But to achieve a flat tummy, she said, "I lift weights, I do squats and side bends."
In a one-minute vlog she posted on her YouTube channel, Isabelle revealed she does 500 sit-ups every day to maintain her well-defined abs.
She said, "Una ko ginagawa palagi is cardio. Lagi ako tumatakbo in the morning. I do mga 500 sit ups a day. Tapos mga weights and dumbbells para ma-achieve natin ang flat na tiyan."
With regard to her diet, the 25-year-old Kapuso actress said she does not follow a strict meal plan to lose weight.
She told PEP.ph, "I'm not too hard on myself. I just try to watch whatever I eat. But now, I cut down carbs and sweets lang, especially now with the pageant. I have to be a bit more strict with my diet."
This was also what Isabelle told GMA-7 reporter Aubrey Carampel in an interview for Balita Pilipinas.
She said, "Ang pinakamahalaga naman ay masaya ka kung ano yung kaya ng katawan mo. Yun ang what makes you truly beautiful, if you're genuinely happy."
