So, does having a blood test guarantee prevention?

Ang sagot ni Dr. Khlaire Pioquinto ng Pioquinto Pediatric and Adult Clinic and Pharmacy ay parehong yes at no depende sa klase ng fever at iba pang kasamang symptoms.

Aniya, “I don’t do routine CBCPC on all patients with fever in general. However, the fever in dengue is usually high grade, lasting two to seven days.

"I request for CBCPC depending on the subjective and objective findings.”

Sa pagpapatuloy ni Dr. Pioquinto, “If we do blood test early, there’s a chance that the result could come out normal, and we’d have a sense of security that it is not dengue.

“Or more often, we end up repeating the etats if the fever persista, and that means more needles and expenses.

“So it is really best to just consult with your primary care physician first, and he/she will advise you on when it’s best to do the blood test.”

ANO ANG MGA DENGUE SYMPTOMS NA HInDI DAPAT BALEWALAIN?

Sa email interview, inisa-isa ni Dr. Pioquinto ang iba pang sintomas na usually ay nagma-manifest four to six days after the infection at nagtatagal ng 10 days.

“Dengue symptoms that should not be ignored. Nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, dizziness, bleeding, chest pain, difficulty breathing. But these are all non-specific symptoms, they can occur with various other illnesses.

“Assuming that the patient has already been diagnosed with dengue fever, and was not admitted, it is best to consult immediately.”

Yung skin rash ay lumalabas two to five days after magkaroon ng fever.

Ang sabi ni Dr, Pioquinto, “Dengue is a virus that is carried by the mosquito. If there are no carriers, there will be no infection. You cannot get it from other people. So, vector control is the only way to prevent dengue…”
