Kapamilya actress Janine Gutierrez recently opened up about her personal struggles with imposter syndrome and how she navigates through moments of self-doubt and insecurity.

According to the National Institutes of Health, imposter syndrome is a behavioral health phenomenon characterized by self-doubt regarding one's intelligence, skills, or achievements, particularly prevalent among high-achievers.

Janine shared her approach to overcoming these challenges in an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during the BioTen Philippines' HYDRO X-cell launch on January 14, 2024.

For one, she advised to fully accept these moments first and recognize them as something normal.

She said, "I mean, I can't avoid the days that I don't feel like one hundred percent or parang there are just days na aside from your appearance, you feel like you're not good enough.

"Or like imposter syndrome, and you don't feel like you can achieve your goals or parang it gets a little cloudy.

"You start comparing yourself to the other people around you whether in looks or in achievements."

SOCIAL MEDIA DETOX

One key step Janine has taken was to occasionally pull away from social media, a channel known for inducing feelings of inadequacy.

She revealed, "Whenever that [imposter syndrome] happens, I just take the time to put my phone away.

"Usually, it starts on like doing scrolling. So I try to be very mindful of my time with social media and things like that.
