Dingdong Dantes believes that parental modelling is the best way to teach children about health and wellness.
“Kung yung mga magulang ay ginagawa, halimbawa, yung pagtatakbo o yung paggawa ng healthy na bagay ay gano’n din ang mga bata,” he told the press during the Share the Alaga Run 2026 held on February 22, 2026, at the SM Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City.
DINGDONG DANTES SETS GOOD EXAMPLE TO HIS KIDS
Jointly organized by healthcare leaders Watsons and Unilab, the event invited the Kapuso star give out the awards for the top young runners that were provided by Ceelin Plus, the nutritional supplement for children that he and his wife Marian Rivera endorse along with their daughter Zia and son Sixto.
“I support anything that promotes, of course, making our kids stronger,” he pointed out.
“Para talagang i-encourage yung mga bata na to get into sports, di ba, to engage, lalo na yung mga ganitong klaseng activities.
“Kasi parang ano siya, e, family event na rin siya, di ba? Nakapasayang makita na magkakasama nilang ginagawa ito.”
By the same token, Dingdong said he and Marian try their best in leading a heathy lifestyle so that Zia and Sixto will do the same.
“Kumbaga, parang modelling kami,” he explained. “Kung makikita nila na yung mga magulang nila ay nag-e-exercise, naglalakad, nagwo-walking or running, even engaging in any type of sports, parang naturally ay gagawin din nila yun.”
The actor, who also hosts the TV game show Family Feud and the infotainment program Amazing Earth” is into sports, including running and biking.
He said he’s “more than proud” that Zia, for instance, is “so much into swimming” and other sports.
“So, kitang-kita ko talaga yung drive niya, yung hilig niya sa ginagawa niya,” he said.
“Andoon kami to support her and para makamit niya yung mga ganoong klaseng performance, kailangan matibay at malakas parati ang katawan.”
When asked how he manages to maintain his active lifestyle and instill it in his children, he replied that commitment is the key.
“Katulad ng ibang ginagawa natin, like trabaho, pagsimba, pagligo, mag-toothbrush. All it takes is an hour of your day.
“Siguraduhin mo lang na i-set aside mo iyan. Kung ano mang oras mo gusto, kung anong oras puwede, mag-commit ka lang.”
Share the Alaga Run 2026
Successful collab Share the Alaga Run 2026 marked twin milestones for its organizers: 185 years of Watsons Philippines’ founding company, A.S. Watson, and the 80th anniversary of Unilab.

It also reaffirmed their shared commitment to champion proactive health that is accessible to the general public.
“Alam naman natin na mahal magkasakit,” said Sharon Decapia, senior assistant vice-president for marketing, public relations, and sustainability for Watsons Philippines.
That’s why, she pointed out in the press interview, the healthcare retailer has initiatives to help their customers to “empower not only themselves but also their families to be healthy.”

Health Business Unit Director Cecille Uy added that having run categories from one kilometer to 10 kilometers was intentional to make the event inclusive.
“This invites runners from all levels of fitness from all ages,” she said.
“We have runners from grandmothers to their grandchildren. It really brings the community closer together.”
She also gave emphasis to the onsite booths that offered free health consultations.
“We see a lot of our Watsons Membership Club members showed up,” she noted.
“We’re so inspired by their fitness journey with their communities. They help us amplify our advocacy.”
