Kapuso actor David Licauco delivered another impressive performance on the international fitness stage, emerging as the top Filipino finisher at HYROX Jakarta 2026.
The popular fitness race was held from June 27 to June 28, 2026, at the Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE) in Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 (PIK2), Tangerang, Indonesia.
Facing a competitive field of 1,654 athletes from various countries, David posted a personal best time of 1:07:38, edging out his previous mark from his HYROX debut in Taipei.

In Taipei, Taiwan, David clocked 1:07:48 in his first-ever HYROX race, where he placed 55th overall and 19th in the men’s 30–34 division. That debut already made waves, as he became the fastest Filipino in the HYROX Open Division across Asia and ranked No. 2 among Filipinos globally in the Men’s Open category.

His Jakarta performance marked a clear step-up. David recorded the fastest time among all Filipino participants across every age group, finishing 9th in the men’s 30–34 division and 28th overall in the men’s open category.
After the men’s event on June 27, 2026, David shared highlights from the competition on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse of his HYROX journey.
In the caption, he thanked supporters and hinted at what’s next, writing, “Whole lot of support. Coming back stronger.”

The comments section of his post was also filled with congratulatory messages from fellow celebrities, including Kapuso stars Dennis Trillo, Jackie Rice, Kim Jisoo, Vince Maristela, and Anthony Constantino; Mister International 2025 Kirk Bondad; model-actor Troy Montero; and basketball player Tyler Tio, among many others.



In a previous interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), the actor shared his long-term ambition in the sport.
"Ang goal ko talaga is makapag-podium finish, like top three in the world,” David said.

"Ever since yun naman talaga yung goal ko. Like, super fan kasi ako ng lahat ng mga Filipinos na nagre-represent ng Philippines.
"So, in some ways maybe I could represent the Philippines in HYROX, di ba? So, yun. Yun yung goal ko—to be top three in the world."
