Events director Robby Carmona and TV5 host G3 San Diego recently opened up about their respective weight-loss journeys after trying Avignion Clinic's WegoPen, an FDA-approved, physician-guided weight management and appetite support program.

The two shared their experiences during the launch of the program held on October 6, 2026, at aesthetic clinic's Grand Alabang branch, in partnership with Novo Nordisk.

In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), both shared that feeling physically heavier and noticing changes in their bodies prompted them to seek professional help to get back on track with their health goals.

For Robby, the decision came after he noticed that his weight was already affecting his work as a fashion show director.

He recalled: "I felt so heavy at work. Parang I couldn't even teach the things that I want the models to do in the fashion show.

"So parang, 'Oh, I really want to be lighter para I can also, you know, teach them what I want to happen in the fashion show.'

"This was about a year ago. And after that I said, 'This is the time for me to do something about it. Rediscover my body and my fitness journey again.'"

Meanwhile, G3 said fluctuating weight became more apparent to her while watching herself on television.

One of the hosts of TV5's talk show TikTalks, alongside Korina Sanchez, Pat-P Daza, Alex Calleja, and Rufa Mae Quinto, G3 said her on-screen appearance became a wake-up call.

"My weight was fluctuating. And then on the third season of our talk show, that's when I noticed.

"When I saw my on-air appearance, I said, 'Oh my gosh.' On my own kasi in the mirror, you really don't notice it.

"But when you see yourself on screen, especially because the camera adds 10 pounds.

"That's really when I was very alarmed because I looked really heavy. So same with Direk Robby, feeling heavy just really prompted me to take matters into my own hands.

"But also, very medically, kailangan talaga ng assistance. So I consulted with the doctors, with my doctor in Avignion, and then I also talked to Chris [Cachuela].

"That's when I found out about a new weight-loss program because I already had a previous weight-loss program which I also tried."

Robby CARMONA AND G3 SAN DIEGO on LOSING THE POUNDS

Both Direk Robby and G3 were cleared by their respective physicians at Avignon Clinic to try the WegoPen as they go through their weight-loss journey.

WegoPen, also known as Wegovy, uses semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist that helps manage appetite and blood sugar by replicating the effects of a naturally occurring gut hormone.

Asked about the results, Robby revealed how much weight he lost in just three months.

"I lost 20 pounds," Direk Robby proudly said.

G3, meanwhile, shared that she lost approximately six pounds in six weeks, a result she had mentioned during the interview.

Despite their positive experiences with the program, both Robby and G3 stressed the importance of maintaining healthy habits alongside medical weight management.

"Oh, definitely. Of course you have to eat better. I think you choose the food that you eat as well, and exercise," Robby said when asked about maintaining a fitness routine.

G3 agreed, noting that individuals need to listen to their bodies, especially as their food intake decreases.

"Pakiramdaman mo yung body mo. Like what you're able to do because your intake is going to be less. What your body is used to taking in, mababawasan talaga siya.

"So it really depends on your energy level because it takes a while to get used to.

"And then when you're used to it, then that's probably when you can go back to your normal fitness routine."

When it comes to eating habits, G3 said she continued practicing intermittent fasting while on the program and did not make major changes to her schedule.

"I'm really intermittent fasting to begin with. So I didn't change that. My eating habits were the same.

"Like the time that I eat, it didn't change. It's really just the quickness of my satisfaction, of my stomach," G3 said.

Robby, meanwhile, shared that his eating pattern varied depending on his schedule and hunger levels, adding that he still ate multiple meals a day, albeit in moderation.

"Ako iba-iba. Minsan I eat three times a day, pero mali. May times naman na parang sobrang gutom ka, then nagiging OMAD din. So iba-iba."

EXPERT'S ADVICE

The two also emphasized that weight-loss medications like GLP-1 should never be taken without proper medical supervision.

G3 said: "Never do it on your own. I know there are a lot of injections that you can buy on the market, but it's always best to have consultation first because anything that you put in your body is your responsibility, di ba?

"So you really have to be very careful what you put inside your body. You better make sure if you're medically approved to do it or if it's FDA-approved, then it's okay.

"Then you can do it. But you have to be very careful about what you put inside your body."

Robby echoed her sentiment, simply saying, "I agree."

For those considering to start their own weight-loss journey, G3 advised doing extensive research and understanding that no single solution works for everyone.

"A tip I would give is this is pretty new. It's very new in the market. I think anything that's very novel or new, you have to do a lot of research, di ba? It's not a one-size-fits-all.

"You should be able to know your body, what your body wants or what your body needs, what your body reacts to.

"Be responsible for your own health, di ba? Just because it's the result of this person doesn't mean it's gonna be your results, too.

"So you do your research first and then you do your proper calculations. But I recommend it."

Robby also underscored the importance of listening to medical advice and monitoring how one's body responds to treatment.

"Consult your doctor, and if it doesn't work for you, then stop lang. Kasi yun nga, iba-iba yung effect niya sa each and every person.

"Like me, wala akong symptoms. No, I did not have nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea or anything like that. So ako, I'm good. But not everyone. I heard na may effects sa others.

"So yun. It's just, if it doesn't work for you, then just stop."
