"Sexy" is no longer defined based on stereotypes.
FHM sexiest Jessy Mendiola once thought that it's akin to a slim physique.
At the launch of FHM 100 Sexiest Women on July 12, Tuesday, at the Splice Greenfield District, the Kapamilya star shared her insights about sexiness and the rampant body-shaming on the Internet.
“Akala ko din dati, isa lang dapat itsura ng sexy: may abs, maliit ang legs, sobrang nipis ng arms, sobrang liit na mukha, yun lang ang definition ko ng sexy dati.
“Pero nung...when I opened my mind and observed a lot of Instagram accounts, personalities, I realized tama nga.
“Tama nga yung sinabi ko nung una na there are all kinds of sexy, ang dami-daming ibang itsura, iba’t ibang strength, iba’t ibang fierceness.
“Yun yung nabago sa 'kin na totoo.
"Totoo talaga kumbaga na I walked the talk.
“Kumbaga totoo yung sinasabi na ang daming sexy, sobrang dami, at hindi lang ako nag-iisa. Sobrang dami.”
How does she define sexy?
“It's the way you carry yourself. Hindi lang siguro siya personal appearance.
“I think that's sexy, when you know yourself and you know that you are strong enough to stand up for something."
Being hailed as the sexiest, she believes, is a responsibility of sorts.
“I want girls, people to follow me as a fitspo or like a role model.
“I want people to follow me on my fitness journey.”
BODY SHAMING. The You’re My Home star had her fair share of body-shaming comments on social media, but she didn’t allow them to affect her.

Remember her Instagram post about body shaming?
"If you don't love yourself enough, who else will? Think about it.
"So go ahead girl, wear that bikini and FLAUNT it. After all, it's YOUR body. Not theirs."
During the presscon, she left this advice to all women who feel insecure about their bodies.
She began, “Hi Ladies!
“Iisa lang ang masasabi ko sa inyo, kayo lang ang nagmamahal sa katawan niyo.
“Kaya kahit ano gusto iyong gawin sa katawan niyo, gawin niyo basta happy kayo, healthy kayo, at dapat, yun, masaya kayo.”
