After conquering her first full marathon in New York last November, Anne Curtis is ready to join the world's oldest annual marathon, the Boston Marathon.
Anne shared the exciting news on her Instagram account.
She began, “In the running world, everyone knows how HARD it is to get into THE Boston Marathon.”
Securing a slot in the Boston Marathon is a major achievement for a runner because it has strict qualifying standards.
Depending on the age group and gender, a runner has to clock in a particular running time in order to qualify.
Women who are 18 to 34 years old need to submit a run that clocks in 3 hours and 35 minutes.
Anne continued, “I feel extremely lucky to be given this opportunity and I'm going to grab this once in a lifetime chance [because it would probably take me exactly that, a lifetime to get a qualifying slot.]
“I'm gonna put 100% into my training and give my all!!!! I got this!”
The 121st Boston Marathon will be held on April 17.
