Sometime in Augustr last year, Lauren Young decided to get back in shape.
First, she started dieting.
Then, in November, she tried circuit training, a full-body workout in 30 minutes or less which builds and tones muscles with an intense cardio workout.
In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during a Watsons event, she said, "I have been going to the gym. I go to 360 Fitness Club.
"I do circuit training with them three to four times a week."
We told her, "Intense workout?"
She replied, "Yes, kailangan, e. Ayokong magka-fat memo.
But the good thing about my routine, it changes so I don't get bored."
Lauren welcomed 2017 with this goal: live a healthier life.
At the time of the interview, she had just asked her coach Alex Callanta to "upgrade" her workout.
And just before her latest project Legally Blind held its grand press conference on February 11, she "decided to train like a beauty queen."
Here's a wefie with her "ultimate fitspo" and sister Megan Young.
And what exactly does a beauty-queen training entail?
One of her posts on Instagram gave us an idea: "squats, jumping jacks, kettle bell swings, planks, trap bar deadlifts, and finally finishing off by climbing 18 flights of stairs."
During the interview, she added, "It's having the discipline. It's not stopping until you get it."
Last month, she added quick runs and meditation to her fitness activities, which should take at least "30 minutes" a day.
Here she was, a week ago, launching her character Charity "Charie" Evangelista, the series' lead female antagonist.
Lauren has indeed lost weight, but still continues her workouts.
"I want it to be part of my lifestyle now. Hopefully, every day."
When asked about her motivation: "At that time? Project. I wanna get back to work."
On the side, she wanted to "spread my positivity, my health, and new lifestyle to other people."
The Kapuso actress added, "I hope it reaches them."
