Sophie Albert admits that it was her bashers' negative comments that pushed her to work out and lose weight.

Sophie Albert looks visibly slimmer these days.

The former TV5 Artista Academy winner admitted that she's been focusing on her workout and diet regimen ever since she started getting comments about her noticeable weight gain.

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) caught up with Sophie during the press launch for the new GMA-7 teleserye The One That Got Away last January 4, at Nix.05, Belagio Tower, Tomas Morato Avenue, Quezon City.

Now that she's visibly fit and looks fabulous, we told Sophie that she can make her bashers eat their words.

She remarked in jest, “I wish na revenge body ko ito, di ba?

“It’s just me taking care of myself.

“Kailangan natin maging fit and healthy especially sa industry na ito.

“May mga nagsasabi sa akin over social media na ang taba ko na raw, hindi na raw ako mukhang artista.

“Mga body shamers sila.

“At first hindi naman ako affected, pero naisip ko rin na I have to do something about it.

“Kaya I started dieting first, and then I started working out na.

“Hindi naman ako yung nagku-CrossFit training. Yung tama lang sa akin.

“I do Pilates, a little weight lifting para magkaroon ng definition sa arms ko, and a lot of running."

CrossFit workouts is a very popular high-intensity and functional movement exercise program, while Pilates is similar to yoga but emphasizes your body's core—the abdomen, obliques, lower back, inner and outer thigh, butt, etc.

Sophie continued, “And I feel good when I lose a lot of weight.

“Lumiit na raw ang mukha ko unlike before na ang bilog ng cheeks ko.

“Now I stay on a strict diet. Binago ko na lahat ng nakasanayan kong kainin.”

With a chuckle, she advised, “Maging single muna kayo!

“Kasi mas enjoy ang mag-workout na wala kang stress na iniisip.

“Walang magulo sa isipan mo.

“Magiging motivation ang maging single ka para mag-improve mo ang sarili mo, physically and mentally.”

Sophie admitted that she has already moved on from her past relationship with ex-boyfriend Vin Abrenica.

Despite being loveless, she enjoys the many perks of singlehood.

“Friends naman kami ni Vin.

“Happy ako that his career is doing great.

“Ayoko munang mag-love life.

“May mga suitors pero ayokong mag-entertain muna.

“Gusto ko munang maging single.

“I’m enjoying it talaga. Iba pa rin when you have time for yourself, your family, and friends.

“Parang ang saya-saya mo lang. Wala kang iniisip na ibang tao.

“But eventually, mami-miss mo rin ang magkaroon ng partner, di ba?

“But for now, okey ako ngayon. I love being this single girl,” she beamed.

WORKING WITH DENNIS. For her new TV project The One That Got Away, Sophie plays Dennis Trillo's current girlfriend, who eventually gets to know his ex-girlfriends, played by Lovi Poe, Rhian Ramos, and Max Collins.

Despite their ongoing tapings, Sophie said that she hasn't had any interactions with Dennis on the set. So far, they've only shot the hospital scene where she visits her comatose boyfriend.

“Yung scene kasi tulog si Dennis then darating ako. Konting iyak-iyak lang.

“Kaya walang dialogues pa.

“After ng take, dun ko lang na-meet si Dennis.

“Kasi nung tawagan ako for this teleserye, as in the day before lang ng taping ko, kaya wala ako sa story conference.

“Good thing na I was working out na kaya sobra akong prepared.

“Ang sexy kaya nung tatlo 'tsaka ang babait nila.

“Sila ang mga una kong naka-eksena kaya it was such a happy experience working with Lovi, Max and Rhian,” she exclaimed.
